MC011 Glitch
Summary: brandedlabeluk sought advice on handling an MC011 review by eBay that led to a permanent selling restriction. They provided genuine supplier invoices but were unable to identify item numbers that eBay requested further evidence for. Other participants, including jonatjonatjonat and tommystrezures, pointed out issues with selling as a business on a private account. roger_roger_over_and_nowt and papso22 suggested that such decisions by eBay are typically final and unlikely to be overturned.
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has experienced an MC011 review followed by a permanent selling restriction.
I had mainly been using my eBay account for buying and started selling in July 2026. Everything was going normally until around the 20 August seller evaluation.
I had received 40+ orders, with most of them being very low-value items of around £1–£2 each. After this, eBay placed my account under an MC011 review and requested supplier invoices.
I provided a genuine invoice from a legitimate UK wholesaler for the product/stock I was selling.
After submitting it, eBay contacted me again asking for invoices relating to specific item numbers mentioned in their email.
The problem is that I carefully checked those item numbers against my active listings, ended listings and sold orders, and I could not find them anywhere. They didn't appear to belong to any product I had listed or sold.
I therefore replied asking eBay to clarify which products/listings those item numbers referred to, as I obviously didn't want to send them an unrelated invoice.
After asking for clarification, I received an email saying my account had been permanently restricted from selling.
I appealed/replied again and provided further evidence, including my genuine wholesaler invoice, bank statement supporting the purchase and driving licence for verification.
Unfortunately, eBay still upheld the permanent restriction and said they could not disclose the specific basis on which the account had been restricted.
What I don't understand is that all of my orders were dispatched and delivered on time, I have 30+ positive feedback ratings, and the account was otherwise in healthy standing. I was also willing to provide everything requested; I simply couldn't identify the item numbers in their second request.
Has anyone experienced something similar with MC011?
In particular, I would really appreciate advice on the best way to request another manual review or escalation. Is there a specific eBay department/team I should try to reach? And has anyone successfully had a permanent selling restriction overturned after providing supplier invoices and proof of payment?
I’m happy to provide eBay with any further legitimate documentation they require. I just want the opportunity for someone to manually review the case and clarify the item numbers they originally requested.
Any advice from sellers who have dealt with a similar situation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

·3 weeks agoIt's unfortunate this this has happened and that you didn't find this community area for advice when setting up your business, but the likely issue is as outlined by others here - wrong account resulting in a suspension. Baby products are a particularly sensitive area too. There isn't much to appeal, best you can do is to direct any written communication to eBay's head office, the address is on the front page of their user agreement.

·3 weeks agoIt's not a glitch, it's a permanent ban and won't be overturned.

·3 weeks agoWhen eBay ask for the information they have asked you they suspect (and know) you were trading incorrectly on their platform. You were not a private seller at all, but a business, hence them wanting copies of invoices etc to prove to them that, that was the case.

That is your problem in a nutshell.
If they say they won't reconsider that's pretty final.
