I put a pair of Dr Martins Boots for sale and ebay took them off saying they were counterfeit so I did an appeal and said that the boots has tags on and they were shown in the picture, and I got a message back saying I had to show a receipt. These were bought by my daughter 3 yrs ago so it took a bit of time finding the receipt. In the message it gave a link to send the receipt but it just took me to a page with nothing about emailing ebay, it was just about my purchases. I went on live help but they just left me waiting ages so I gave up so how am I supposed to send the picture of the receipt

·1 month agoJust been reading about several sellers items being taken down because they violate ebay's selling for charity policy, but the sellers say they don't.
Likewise items like spoons being taken down because they are said to violate ebay's bladed items policy.
The Automated Idiot is taking over the asylum and this is only going to get worse IMO.

eBay has employed AI to detect and automatically remove suspected counterfeit items and it even has the power to sanction seller's accounts. In a previous thread a seller had several pairs of expensive trainers (or "sneakers" in eBay parlance) that were removed by eBay's AI for allegedly being counterfeit with a short-term selling restriction thrown in as well. This was despite the fact the trainers would have been sent to an eBay-employed authenticator under eBay's Authenticity Guarantee during the sale - you couldn't make it up.
