Late Postage Strikes against sellers when not their fault!

I am getting to many strikes against me by ebays automated system saying that my items have been posted late!
They have not!
The problem appears to be with Royal Mail and 2nd class post.
Items are clearly being held back in the system and delivered late.
ie stating that a label has been created on a certain date, then held in the system for over a week and then given a postage date and delivery date both on the same date impossible.
Ebay needs a serous talk with Royal mail about this, or unlink the system from Royal Mail.
Is any one else having this problem?

·Aug 10, 2026 at 4:46 PMI had this a couple of weeks ago on my business account, item was dispatched 2 days before it was due, the postal operative scanned it on my doorstep, 30 seconds later I got an email from royal mail confirming they had collected it, it showed as collected on the royal mail website but didnt say it had been dispatched until it reached the mail centre 3 days later, I got a defect, I appealed the defect and lost so appealed it again and lost again, case closed, even though royal mail had the item it means nothing to ebay.
Also, just as a warning, there are tracking problems with royal mail at this time, it says its to do with the "We have something for you" cards BUT we have no idea at what point ebay gets its data from royal mail, or to put it another way, theres no one at ebay sitting there tapping in each tracking number.

·1 month agoMany of us have the same problem. You post your mail in the afternoon but Royal Mail often does not scan it until after midnight. They then report as posted late. eBay know about this but choose to do nothing about it. For this reason I dont use eBay labels and if the item is tracked I put the tracking number in a note to the buyer.
I also find on untracked item, they are often reported as " carrier says not posted on time" The carrier has said no such thing as they were not tracked - explain that

·1 month ago@mark.baker1992 the problem with the date of despatch and delivery being the same is annoying, but you can contact eBay if you have proof of postage and ask them to remove it. You will need to ask them to send you an email link so you can send them a copy of the pop. I have had all mine removed, but you have a limited time to do it so don't leave it too long.

·1 month agoPretty much everyone. Most have stopped complaining about the EDD’s as it hasn’t got us anywhere.
I use the Royal Mail lockers for 2nd class large letters as it records the drop off as dispatch on the eBay tracking. That’s my solution to avoiding defects. Other sellers decide not to upload tracking at all but there are pitfalls by doing that.
