How to sell posters with Simple Delivery?
The maximum length of a parcel with Simple Delivery is 61cm but a standard cinema poster is much longer than this.
Meanwhile, the movie poster category makes Simple Delivery compulsory.
Is there a solution to this?

·1 month ago@ereiam-jh you could just put the tube in a box. RM's size limit is 61 x 46 x 46 and your tube is only 80 cm long. Placed diagonally, you can fit an 89 cm tube into RM's box size.

·1 month agoHi there, I had same problem, but now I just click on large letter, and it takes simple delivery off and offers you custom delivery, so when someone buys something you can choose your own sizes, and postage, including evri, Royal Mail. Etc. tracked, signed for, and all the usual postage options, found it so much easier

·1 month ago · EditedIt seems the OP is pricing them over £20 so SD will kick straight back in again as soon as they enter the price. I was thinking earlier maybe it would make sense to do an auction with a low start bid to get round it but seeing the BIN prices they have their posters up for I didn’t think they would be interested in taking that kind of chance.

ParcelShop Drop-Off: Maximum weight is 15kg. No side can exceed 120cm in length, and the total volume (length plus twice the two shortest sides) cannot be more than 245cm.
Locker Drop-Off: Maximum dimensions are 66cm x 41cm x 38cm, with a weight limit of 15kg.
Postable / Letterbox Service: Maximum dimensions are 35cm x 23cm x 2.5cm, with a maximum weight of 1kg.

·1 month ago · Editedevri take parcels up to 120cm, just select them, simple delivery, but make sure you pick the correct weight

OP1 month ago · EditedI already have all couriers (including evri) enabled in my settings. It is not possible to specify particular couriers for individual listings.
The maximum weight available to select is 20kg but even that option retains a maximum length of 61cm
(For reference, a poster in a mailing tube weighs under 500g and has a length of approx 80cm)

·1 month ago · EditedIf eBay are not making it possible to select an oversized parcel or do custom postage I would list it, sell it and hope for the best. It will probably be ok as long as you can get it accepted over the counter.
I would specifically stress in the description that if the buyer chooses click and collect to a locker there is no way the delivery is going to be successful. Home delivery or click and collect to a shop should be fine.

·1 month agoevri take 120cm. can you deselect couriers?
the important aspect is the right weight. sent many any item over 61cm and even royal picked one up over 61cm!
list the item and see.

·1 month agoNo, it's not. If you have any items that can only be sent via Evri then you have to exclude all other couriers for all of your listings. That's the only way to get Evri only on the ones that are too long for the other providers. (Obviously, if they were over the Simple Delivery price limit of £750 then SD would vanish, custom postage would return and be compulsory.)

·1 month ago · EditedI use a pc, windows 10 and firefox.
each of my adverts, simple delivery, i can select and deselect couriers. Items over 61cm i deselect rm.
That deselection does not impact on any of my other listings.
you, and op, may be using a different device.
I note you are a business. the op and i are private sellers.

OP1 month agoI also use a PC with firefox (with Windows 11 but I don't see why that would matter.)
I can select and deselect couriers while creating a listing but it clearly states that all my listings will be affected by any changes I make.

·1 month ago · Editedinteresting, this message is now appearing and indeed i see what you mean on all. To me a recent change. Ebay choose the courier so this would imply all couriers now take 120cm. I have just listed an item over 61cm ,under this message ,leaving all selected and i dont believe for one moment I will have any issues if sold.
"Meanwhile, the movie poster category makes Simple Delivery compulsory."
free delivery or not the buyer is paying, if they want it they will pay. the important point on sd, its tracked and covered if lost. My experience of comp from rm was a book of stamps. The compo form states proof of purchase is needed. The item was new and the receipt long gone.

OP1 month agoIt doesn't imply all couriers take 120cm. You have to choose the parcel size when making the listing and every available option in the poster category specifies a maximum length of 61cm.
In all likelihood, there'll be no issues but it's not impossible that eBay could charge a fee if an oversized parcel is dispatched.

·1 month agoI have a private seller account as well. You can deselect couriers on the listing form when you list but, as @ereiam-jh says, doing this on one listing does apply it to all listings. You get this popup when you deselect a courier on the listing form:

·1 month agobusiness workings may not apply to private sellers as sd is not in business. Also the vehicle, smart phone and pc. From experience, neice, she has now turned back to pc as the smart phone app lacks the features.
