How come similar items are selling for far higher than my advertised item?
How come similar items are selling for far higher than my advertised item?
Noticed this now many a time and to me, something stinks.
Also, items appearing well down the list and not even at top of lowest priced item even when I know its the cheapest on the site?
Perhaps its down to this promotion thing but if all sellers opted in then how will ebay choose who then goes top?

You're a private seller with 83 other listings.
Have a look at those above you in the results.
Some are businesses with hundreds of listings, probably all sponsored.
Which seller has the greatest potential to make money FOR EBAY?
Therein might lay the answer.
Ebay is in the game of making money FOR EBAY, not for sellers.

eBay solds are useful to look at but there are variables. They don’t highlight repeat buyers who will pay more to stay with a seller they know and trust already. Items sold on offer don’t always appear that way on the solds so the results can be misleading. Items can be subject to combined shipping, multi order discounts or seller coupons that may not be immediately obvious from looking at a sold list.
It can also come down to how well the seller optimised the listing to fit eBay’s algorithm, improved photos or descriptions that set them apart from other listings. Sometimes it is just pure luck as well.

·3 weeks agoA few other things that I think are important. Some sales may be achieved because the seller posts to a location that you don’t. I have been watching a certain item that sold for £400-£500 here as the sellers were posting UK only and international sales to the US for the same item have been reaching 10x that price.
Dispatch times - the buyer will choose a listing with a 0-1 day dispatch time over one with extended dispatch. Yours for example seem to set at 2 or 3 days. You may lose a buyer just on that aspect. Plus the no returns policy, that’s fine I don’t blame you at all but people take that literally regardless of circumstance as they have never read the eBay moneyback guarantee.
