Help with simple delivery Royal Mail collection
Summary: uk_smithy shared their experience with the new 'simple delivery' system, facing issues when trying to arrange a collection with Royal Mail. They were confused by the process, as there was no confirmation or tracking number provided after booking a collection. sml192 responded, explaining that it's necessary to click the 'Get label' button to receive confirmation via email, though the process may not be intuitive. They expressed uncertainty about why there was no confirmation received by uk_smithy.
I have just sold something for the first time in ages and come across this new 'simple delivery' system. I had a huge problem trying to arrange collection by Royal Mail. I clicked on the 'Create label or get QR code' button, which took me to a page that had the option 'need collection' or something like that. So I clicked on that, selected a day, and then clicked on 'book collection', but nothing happened. No confirmation on the page, no emails, nothing. So I thought I might need to click on the ' create label' button at the bottom which I did, and was told a label had been emailed to me, but still no confirmation collection had been arranged, and no tracking number showing on order. I then went back to try again and when I clicked on 'need collection' button it took me to the Royal Mail website, which allowed me to arrange the collection, but wouldn't allow me to have them bring a label, and charged me the 30p for collection, which is supposed to be free with simple delivery. Could someone please run me through the procedure for arranging Royal Mail collections in simple delivery?

·2 weeks agoYou do need to click on the blue 'Get label' button after clicking on 'book collection' in order to generate the label (admittedly not very intuitive). You should then have received an email confirming the collection so not sure what went wrong on this occasion.

OP2 weeks agoThanks. I wonder if it was because I went onto another page after I booked the collection, and then went back onto that page to click the 'get label' button. I'll know for next time.
