Hey,
Sorry for the dim question and brain dump.
I sold an item (RC car) and had to jump through some hoops for the seller who wanted it posted immediately (i have a 2 day processing time due to work etc) but moved some items around and dropped it off first thing in the morning.
I then proceeded to answer the 10 or so questions he had and let it go for a cheap price (space and moving). Item delivered today and then immediaetly I get a question
How does it go together and how do I install the servo and make it work.
I reply with some guidance and pointed out the manual is there so look at that and it will show you.
Low and behold 15 mins later a return request is initiated and the title "ordered by mistake"
I am now unsure what to do - I have the option to decline the return but worried about feedback and any other repercussions, equally I do not want the item back its why I sold it and its just means relisting and going through the process again.
What would you do/have done in similar circumstances.
I am not an awkward person and generally will do my best to accomodate but this just feels like they can't be bothered.

·3 weeks agoI would accept the return and block the buyer.
You will get a certain number, hopefully small, of stupid buyers. Move on as quick as you can.

·3 weeks agoMe personally? As a private seller I’d reject the return request.

OP3 weeks agoCan they leave negative feedback etc. As a new seller its my only concern
jonatjonatjonat
·3 weeks agoThey can leave it, though you could request removal under eBay’s feedback policy. Important point, the review specifically has to reference that you declined the return. If they simply said, unhappy with transaction, then you’d not get that removed.
Returns issues
We remove neutral/negative feedback when any of the following occurred and this is what the buyer is referencing:
The seller declined a change-of-mind return request, as the listing didn’t offer returns
The buyer changed their mind and was liable for the cost of an eBay return label

OP3 weeks agoThanks, so thats the risk I run I guess then. I have until the 20th so will consider my options.

·3 weeks ago · EditedAlso worth bearing in mind that they could still do a Chargeback/payment dispute with their payment provider if you decide to decline the return.

Seems a baptism of fire being a seller on eBay.
