Has anyone reported counterfeit goods to eBay?
I came across a blatant one today and reported it, but eBay didn't agree with me and let it remain. Someone's going to regret spending the best part of £1700 there!

·2 weeks agoReporting to eBay cannot work, no matter how well meaning, as eBay do not see the item, they do not know who is reporting the item , which could be a competitor or a disgruntled buyer, that does happen!
eBay rely on cases.
Buyer receiving any fake item should open a case for item not as described, here eBay will be on the side of the buyer , and not only fully refund everything they paid, but if there's a pattern from the seller of selling fake goods, these cases accumulate, and raises red flags to eBay, then they act with the removal of the item and or the seller permanently from their site.
You don't mention what this £1700 item was but if a Brand item, you can inform the manufacturer and if they contact eBay again seller would soon here from them!

It's a high quality vintage Swiss watch. I guess anyone who did their due diligence would find out.
However, I thought eBay were interested to maintain the quality and integrity of their platform, which is why I offered third party evidence to support my opinion.

·2 weeks agoReporting such listings is usually pointless. eBay will only listen to a buyer opening a return request with "doesn't seem authentic" chosen as the reason or a VeRO takedown request made by the rights holder of the affected brand/manufacturer.
