Contradictory despatch dates
I've just had to sell my first item with SD as it wasn't eligible for CD. Today is Tues 28th July and the SD label says post by the end of Tues 4th August, ie a full week away. But the online details say to despatch by Thursday 30th. Why is there this discrepancy and is there any penalty if I don't post it by the 30th?

路2 weeks agoI believe all Royal Mail postage labels are valid for seven days from the date of purchase but eBay are expecting you to send the item within your stated despatch time.
If an acceptance scan is obtained after the 30th eBay will slap you with a late despatch defect although Royal Mail will still accept the item.

路2 weeks agoThat sounds like Royal Mails dispatch time, a little like a use by date.
Its best to stick with eBays dispatch dates and just ignore the other one.

路2 weeks ago 路 EditedYour dispatch date is two days, that's typical. If you don't keep to that your dispatch rating will suffer. But labels are actually valid for 7 days.
