Change in Printing 4 x 6 Thermal Labels
Summary: knit-in-styles is experiencing issues with printing labels on their Zebra printer after a change occurred while using Google Chrome. The labels now appear blank unless viewed as a PDF after canceling the print. marco@ebay suggested that the issue may be linked to browser or printing settings, as it works fine in Chrome Incognito and with other browsers. Despite suggestions to adjust settings, the problem persists, and marco@ebay confirmed that they could not replicate the issue. ile136yz also shared a tip about printer settings, which did not resolve the problem. The discussion continues in exploring potential solutions.
One day last week, something changed when trying to print labels on my Zebra printer.
I purchase the labels via eBay and then click "print label" which then prints the label perfectly.
Now when I click print I get the following and have to cancel and the label is behind to print. Has this changed for anyone else?
Thanks

ยทSep 16, 2026 at 12:44 PMHi,
I have few different printers connected to my laptop. The last printer I used always comes up first, so if it is not the printer I want, I go to 'More Settings' (as already suggested by another member) & change to my label printer.

OPSep 16, 2026 at 12:57 PMThanks, yes I do too have a few printers. It is the correct printer selected (Zebra) but as shown in the photo all of a sudden every label is blank.

Hi @knit-in-styles , if I had to guess, I reckon it is your browser's printing settings (that's probably why your printer works ok with another browser), you can try resetting your browser settings to see if that helps, or compare them to the settings of different browser and see if you can spot anything different?
Hope this helps you find the issue,
Marco

OPSep 16, 2026 at 3:01 PMThanks Marco. No, it is not the browser settings. I use Chrome and I have printed thermal labels for both Royal Mail and Vinted using Chrome and it works perfectly. It is just eBay this account I am having the issue with.
I have also compared the print settings to Chrome Incognito where it also works perfectly and they are identical.
I will keep trying though though thanks ๐

Hi @knit-in-styles , thanks for your post.
Is this happening with all your labels now or just one in particular? If you could please confirm 1 item number or two where this is happening to you, I can take a look no problem.
Thank you,
Marco

OP1 month agoThanks, I also should have added it is using google chrome and every label has now been like this since part way through the day last Thursday, one minute it was fine, the next it went like the photo above. However, on my private account I use Google Incognito and the labels are fine on there.
I have cleared all my cache, cookies etc this afternoon but I haven't had another sale yet to test it.

Thanks for your reply, @knit-in-styles .
It sounds like this is related to the browser/setting side of things, but let me know how you get on with the next sale to see if that works for you or not. If it doesn't, please let me know the item number, and I will be happy to take a further look for you no problem.
Thank you,
Marco

OP1 month agoThanks Marco, nope it didn't work this morning when I tried to print the label, it shows as blank on the print page however if you cancel the print page that opens, I can see it as a PDF in the back and can print from there. The item number from this morning is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/128055302215

OP1 month agoHi Marco
Just wondered if you managed to check this yet please as still happening. It is only on eBay it happens as I printed labels from other sites yesterday with no issues.
I have uninstalled the PDF and reinstalled it to see if that makes a difference but I am afraid it doesn't.
marco@ebay
Hi @knit-in-styles , thanks for your reply.
I've only seen this now, I didn't get a notification for your previous reply. I've just tried to replicate this for you, and it is working ok for my. So, this is probably related to your browser and/or printing settings. However, I've referred this for you to be safe, but as advised above, since I wasn't able to replicate it and no other users are repeating the same, our tech team might not find anything.
If this is the case, I will confirm this once they get back to me. If no faults are found, you might need to double check your browser and printing settings.
Thank you,
Marco

OPSep 15, 2026 at 7:46 AMThanks Marco. It is still not working. I use Chrome and I have been printing labels absolutely fine with other websites, it is just this eBay account. As I said it also works fine in Chrome Incognito which is what I use for my private account. I have cleared all cache etc, updated Chrome, uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe but I am afraid none of this has helped.

Hi @knit-in-styles , thanks for your reply.
I've just got an update, and they weren't able to replicate the problem as it is working normally. I tried myself as well to see if I get to see what you see, but it works fine for me as well.
So, this is definitely related to your browser and/or printing settings, the fact that you are saying that you can use it no problem with other browsers confirms this as well. So, I would recommend double checking your browser and printing settings to see what's happening there, if it was an issue from our end it would happen consistently with all browsers and all printing settings, so no much we could do from here, I'm afraid.
Thank you,
Marco

OP1 month agoThanks, I just tried your suggestion and no it then is just blank. It is weird as I was using it in the morning and it was fine, then when I went to get another postage label later, it went to the above and has been like that since.
