Buyer did a charge back with bank?
Summary: daj_958297 sold an Apple Watch that couldn't be found at the collection point, although tracking confirmed delivery. The buyer opened a claim, which was resolved in the seller's favor, but eBay still refunded both parties. Later, the buyer filed a payment dispute with their bank. eBay informed daj_958297 that they are protected under the Seller Protection policy and no action is needed. jonatjonatjonat and tressygirl suggested blocking the buyer, while cobwebcottage hopes eBay will ban the buyer for attempting to get two refunds. suelel1968 noted that it's unlikely the buyer would be refunded twice as eBay will likely defend the claim.
So this has turned into a s*it show. It follows on from a post I made the other day. Sold an item Apple Watch it was sent to a collection point, buyer went to collect apparently nothing there, tracking shows it there but nothing there. Buyer opened a claim, it got turned down and case closed in my favour.
Following day eBay refunded also refunded buyer I got paid I suspect simple postage and eBay took the hit. Then today I receive the following.
Your buyer filed a payment dispute for an order placed on September 16, 2026. This means that they disputed a charge directly with their payment institution. They are requesting xxxxx back, and the reason for this dispute is that the buyer had an issue with the transaction.
The good news is that you’re protected for this dispute under eBay's Seller Protection policy. We'll close this dispute once we receive the dispute outcome from the buyer’s payment institution. You're not required to take any action right now. If the buyer updates the dispute, we will let you know if any further action is required.
To look into this further, you can go to the payment dispute details page.
So what happens now?

This confuses me. Did they say they refunded the buyer? I can totally understand a buyer wanting their money back. There are plenty of cases of delivery going wrong. I'm not sure why everyone just assumes the buyer is a "wrong-un". Having gone through the charge back process, it is time consuming and takes quite along time to get to this stage. The buyer will not get refunded twice, ebay will just defend the claim stating that the buyer has already been refunded.
