Buyer changed their mind and requested a cancellation
Summary: tfdb is seeking clarification on eBay's refund process after a buyer requested to cancel an order for not considering a technical detail. tfdb is concerned about refunding more than the item's price due to postage costs. sml192 advises that if a specific postage service was used, tfdb should refund the full amount, including postage, and then void the postage label to be reimbursed for the label's cost.
Within hours of an order being placed, and before I sent it out, a buyer told me they hadn't taken a technical detail into account and has requested to cancel the order. I don't mind cancelling too much but the way it's presented to me I have to repay the item price plus the postage, which amounts to a refund of 150% of the item price. Is this because I have requested the postage label? Is this just Ebay's misleading presentation of the numbers or am I being penalised for no reason
Can anybody clarify for me please?

·2 weeks agoIf it was the Dell monitor then that was listed with Custom Postage Evri Tracked, not Simple Delivery, so you would need to refund the buyer in full, including the postage, and then cancel the postage label, as follows, in order to be reimbursed for the cost of the label:
'Here's how to void a postage label in My eBay or Seller Hub:
Select Selling in My eBay, or select Orders on the Seller Hub Overview page.
Select Postage Labels on the left-hand side.
Select Actions next to the label you'd like to void, and select Void Label.'

OP2 weeks agoThanks. They changed their mind again and the sale went through. Thanks for pointing me to the postage labels. I also found a list of my transactions which does help to clarify a bit
