Bad use for grammar
A a glaring error in your current advertising campaign. The banner on your homepage says, 'Let those vinyls spin again.' The word 'vinyl' is a mass noun; the plural of vinyl is vinyl. It should read 'Let that vinyl spin again' or 'Let those records spin again.' As a major marketplace, this looks highly unprofessional and should be corrected by your copy editing team immediately.

·2 weeks agoI wonder if the campaign was written by a Brit or an American? Yanks don't do grammar like what we do.
They do seem to pepper everything with exclamation marks though, which really annoys me.

Bad use of vocabulary...
There's also a glaring reduplication error right at the start of your post ("A a glaring error...").
And, of course, a mass noun cannot have a plural (or a singular) form, so, contrary to your post, there is no plural of "vinyl".

Somebody else started a thread about this recently. The general consensus was that what you're saying is technically correct (and I agree - personally, I think "vinyls" sounds clunky and just... wrong), but for 'the kids', it is acceptable (perhaps even correct) terminology.
It's just eBay trying to be hip, and annoying us oldies in the process. As for changing it, well, there are dozens of far more serious problems with the site that I and many others would rather eBay turned its attention to first.
Having said that, making such a trivial tweak while completing neglecting the farr more serious issues is exactly the kind of thing eBay would do.
