Automatically enrolled into 'Click & Collect' again ? Site error ?

Noticed a couple of days ago all my listings are now showing 'Click & Collect' even though I have opted out of this feature. My postage preferences still show as 'not enrolled'. I toggled it on/off, didn't change anything. I understand if you offer evri or inpost it happens automatically, but again, I only send through royal mail.
I then assumed it was a temporary glitch on the site, but days later I'm still enrolled, despite all my settings saying otherwise. Basically, is this happening to anyone else ?

·3 weeks agoThis automatic click & collect on items even when not enrolled seems to mean that you cannot get R Mail to bring a label and collect your item , you have to take it to a drop-off.

·1 month agoFor items sent with Simple Delivery Click & Collect is mandatory and is now available with Royal Mail as well as Evri and Inpost so will appear on most listings where Simple Delivery is being used. The opt out only applies to items being sent with Custom Postage (although admittedly that isn't made clear).

I've just checked a recent listing of mine (Simple Delivery, seller pays postage), and the Click & Collect option is there. What I don't understand, though, is this:
I chose a service costing £3.38 with SD (Small Parcel up to 1kg, I believe). The postage options given to the buyer are Standard Tracked (free) or Express Tracked for £4.00. What happens if a buyer selects Express? Does eBay still charge me £3.38 (and pocket the 62p difference), but the label, when generated, will be for the Express service? Or does eBay charge me the full £4.00, despite showing a label cost of £3.38 at the point of listing (which is obviously unfair, because if I knew the postage would cost more, I might want to increase my item price to absorb the increase).
Can anyone please clarify? Most of my items are listed with custom postage, so there are still aspects of SD that I don't understand. Thanks.
EDIT: Just found this on a help page, which I think answers my question: "After the sale, you can check the delivery cost paid by the buyer in the Order Details, Postage labels section in My eBay, your order confirmation, and postage label invoice. If your buyer selects an express delivery service instead, they'll pay the full delivery cost, and you won't be charged."
So, with my listing, if the buyer chooses Standard, eBay will deduct £3.38 from my sale for the label, but if they select Express, they pay £4, and I get to keep all my sale proceeds (minus the BPF, of course), with nothing deducted for postage.
Is that correct? From a seller perspective, it seems a bit too good to be true - so I've probably misunderstood something here!

·2 weeks agoAs I understand it. Custom postage will only show express delivery if you select it when listing. So if item is £3 + postage being custom at £1:77 you will receive £4:77 into your funds and pay £1:77 for postage label from your funds. I see that logic for small priced large letter items. I don't see the logic of listing with custom postage and charging for an item at small parcel cost as you lose the benifits given by SD. If you select SD you will still receive £3 but the buyer will pay ebay for the label. Even on free postage with SD you will show funds being received for the full price the buyer paid but it will also deduct from your funds the label cost. I am aware I have not mentioned buyer protection but in all the scenarios I spoke about it will all be added and taken by ebay. Only snag with free delivery being added by a private seller is the buyer protection is higher for an item with free delivery than it is with purchase price and postage separate.

For Simple Delivery (though the help page hasn't been updated) Royal Mail also now allows Click and Collect.

OP2 months agoFair enough, if I no longer have a choice, I'll live with it. I was enrolled in 'click & collect' for a long time, but had a bad run of people either not collecting their items or shops claiming non-delivery, despite tracking saying otherwise. When a parcel was sat there for 5-6 days, still not collected, it got annoying. Plus, when I last used it, the tracking only classed it as delivered when actually collected, not when it reached the collection point.
