All my listings removed and I cannot add any new - Help please
Hi all, I have been using Ebay for 20 years now but just recently my "performance" as a personal seller has fallen "Below Standard". Ebay started deleting my listings and today they have all been removed.
No idea what to do next.
I emailed them but they offer tips to increase performance & I request a review but nothing changes.

·1 month agoWhen a business seller under performs and breaches ebay's guidelines an extra percentage is added to fees. With private selling now being free ebay can't take such action for private sellers so have had to come up with something else. There are other threads where sellers have had their ability to list removed or severely restricted (we're talking hundreds down to single figures) and their existing listings removed to reflect the restriction. Have you had any messages from ebay on this at all?

OP1 month agoHi. I am a private seller so not sure what is going on other than I misplaced a few items but refunded the seller immediately. They send the usual blurb but offer no solution to change the fact that I cannot list anything at all.

·1 month agoWhen you cancel items for being out of stock it severely affects your seller level. If a business is rated "below standard" for two consecutive evaluation periods they are charged more in final value fees. Private sellers like yourself do not pay final value fees so are punished with a selling restriction instead. What @the_book_seekers was pointing out is that sellers are always punished when they cancel too many sales for being out of stock; you can only have 2% of your transactions being deemed "transaction defects" before you become rated "below standard".
You should have received a message detailing the selling restriction you currently have.

If you are the author of the brand new books you were selling, you have the incorrect type of selling account. (Or if you have purchased them with the intention of reselling this also stands.)
You need to have what eBay call a 'business' account' to sell these.
Keep a private account for selling other odds and ends.
But already having an account with issues might be a stumbling block.

Can you then explain why you have sold multiple copies of the same titles and all new copies - one example is the Richard O'Sullivan biography. I counted at least a dozen of these in your feedback. Most private sellers would have one copy - not more than 12 and all new.

·1 month ago@finelinerblue this is where a lot of people get confused. A business account isn't only for those with a registered company. It's meant to be used by anyone who is trading - maybe ebay need to make this clearer and perhaps it should be renamed a trader account. As a self-published author selling your own books, you're trading which is a business activity. You'd just be categorised as a sole trader rather than any type of registered company.
That said, it's probably a moot point now as the out of stock cancellations will be the cause of your issue and it's almost impossible to recover from restrictions like this. Have ebay limited your number of listings or have they issued a total selling restriction? What does your listing allowance state?

·1 month agoHave you been rated "below standard" for two consecutive evaluation periods? eBay are known to issue selling restrictions if that happens but you should have received a message informing you of the fact. Is there any information on your seller standards dashboard?

OP1 month agoHi. Yes. They recommend keeping ion top of listings etc but I cant do that when they removed them all & I cannot list again.
