Account on Hold with ebay balance saying available
Summary: atym7843 expressed confusion and frustration over a hold on their eBay account after selling an item, despite the funds appearing available in their balance. They shared that eBay advised they could use these funds for purchases on the platform, but this option seems inaccessible. 4_bathrooms suggested the issue might be related to a transaction hold or an account restriction due to selling a high-priced item, and advised checking the specific message from eBay to clarify whether it's a hold or a selling restriction causing the delay.
Hi All,
Sorry if this is in the wrong group, was not sure exactly where it goes. I sold an item on ebay then a day later ebay put a hold on my account and waiting 14 days for the funds to become available in my ebay balance but i cannot withdraw as there is a hold on account but funds say available. I spoke to ebay and they said i can use to buy on ebay just select ebay balance but its greyed out and funds say avalable on balance and when you look at the transaction has a green button on funds available.
I am cunfused and ebay dont seem to know apart from telling my i have to wait 6 months for my money ?

·2 weeks agoYou need to find out whether you have a hold or a restriction on your account.
As you sold a high price item my gut feeling is it is a transaction hold as detailed here. However, the mention of a 6 month wait (180 days) is what typically happens when eBay have restricted an account from selling; the delay is eBay's way of protecting themselves from any future disputes raised by the buyer's payment instrument provider.
What does it state in the message you received from eBay? Does it state they placed your funds on hold or does it state they have given you a selling restriction?
