30 day hold on my funds
I have been selling my vinyl 45s on ebay since May with funds in my account either two days
after delivery or more quickly if buyer sends positive feedback. I have 100% positive feedback
on eighty plus items sold with no issues. All of a sudden the funds from my sales have been put on
a 30 day hold. Can anybody suggest any reasons for this action by ebay.

·1 week agoIt looks to me like you are doing exactly that. A collection that contained some real gems and as no-one has even quibbled about your grading must have been well cared for over the years. Giving you 100% FB and excellent DSRs, not a single negative or even a neutral and well deserved regular sales
Even the Automated Idiot should be able to tell that 80-odd sales of unique, one-off 50 year old items at a rate of 1 or 2 a day over 3 months isn't a business disguised as a private account. It's certainly doesn't have thousands of listings rolling over month after month, nor does it involve multiple brand new items.
When your sales are so consistent and so consistently getting positive FB I find it hard to believe that either an "unusual selling pattern" or a "sudden increase in orders" can be the reason either.
It would be interesting to hear what reason, if any, CS might give you for the sudden Hold, but all too often even if you can speak to a human they can't see any reason themselves. You might get some clue by reading through the "Related Discussions" next to your OP. But unfortunately these sort of threads come-up on the boards regularly and as a newish seller you may not be aware that ebay profits from all the funds it holds. Either by way of interest or by using the funds to pay its running costs.
As you will see from the related discussions the Hold will be released at some point in the future, usually with as little explanation as for it being imposed. If you're happy to go along with it continue selling safe in the knowledge that you will be paid eventually. If you you object strongly enough, you can temporarily close your listings to stop ebay holding any more of your cash from future sales, until such time as ebay sees fit to release its hold.

OP1 week agoI've just spoken to a customer service agent who tells me that my account is fine but there is a bug in the system causing the problem. If not cleared in three or four days i have to ring back. Hey-ho.

·1 week agoHave you contacted eBay and asked them?

OP1 week agoYes, but the agents just keep on claiming it's to ensure the safety of the ebay market place and are unable to give me the exact reason.

·1 week agoArgh. Good old eBay CS... your account has probably been erroneously flagged by some LLM, and the CS people won't have a clue why. Hope you get it sorted soon.

·1 week agoDoes the message you received from eBay give any reason for your funds being on hold?
Two possible reasons are eBay detecting an "unusual selling pattern" or a large increase in order volume as detailed here. You may also be experiencing transaction holds which you can check here.

·1 week agoIt could be for a number of reasons.
One i can think of is that, after selling quite a few items in a short space of time,Ebay may have flagged your account for possibly trading on the wrong type of account.
P.S. Are you aware of Digital sales reporting brought in in 24 :- https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/account/regulatory/sales-reporting/uk-digital-sales-reporting?id=5454

OP1 week agoI am selling my vinyl 45s that i bought 55 to 60 years ago. I did not buy them to resell at a profit so I can be nothing else than a private seller and not a business. These records are nothing more than personal possessions. This can't be the reason, Roger.
