If buyer failed to collect (RM, evri, Inpost), do seller must refund or get negative review?

I’m wondering if a buyer failed to collect the item, do we, as a seller must refund the buyer?(I heard it’s our decision as buyer void the money back guarantee protection if they failed to collect) If we don’t refund, do we get negative review? I heard mixed information, and I just want to know from sellers who have experienced this situation.

ebay customer services does not understand the uk simple delivery policy

About two weeks ago i sent an item by simple delivery and it was shown to be delivered about 3 days later. Shortly after the buyer opened a case stating that it had not been delivered to him but a house he did not recognise. He claimed to have seen the delivery photo. The case stated as it used to do that i should either 1/ post the item... ( posted as indicated by the tracking, 2/ Update the tracking. ( could not as ebay does not allow updating of tracking numbers ) or 3/ refund the buyer. ( not my position to refund as its insured through ebay) So there was nothing i could do.. 5 days later the case was escalated and ebay closed the case in favour of the buyer refunding him and taking the amount from my account. When i appealed they granted my appeal and in there words made it seem they were doing me a favour in returning my money.   Yesterday i have another not delivered case pop up. Again through simple delivery. This time i contacted customer services straight away to ask them to deal with the case as its a simple delivery issue. This is where it gets frustrating... The first reply asked me send, update tracking or refund, as there was nothing they could do for 5 days. When i questioned this as it was a simple delivery issue i was told they could not see any tracking number on the order and that i should contact the courior company involved. I sent them the tracking number and asked if they understand the simple delivery policy. The reply i got back said yes they can now see the item is still in transit but theres nothing they can do till the case is escalated by the buyer. So i can see in a few days ebay is going going to close the case in favour of the buyer again and im going to have to appeal again... Customer services replys have come from a diffrent indian agent each time and i dont think they understand the uk simple delivery policy. If and advisor can help the order number is 08-14695-53711. many thanks and sorry for the long ramble

could someone explain this to an old lady please

HI folks I'm new to selling so dont know the ins and outs sold a box of items, four days after receiving them buyer complains some are broken in transit. I asked for her to return the items, broken and unbroken but no reply msg from ebay tells me " you do not need to refund the buyer and you will not receive the item back " I know it makes me sound stupid but does that mean they will deduct the price from my account? and if so why wont i get the broken stuff - which was not all of it by any means - back ? thanks for any info on this simple delivery stuff .. I'm feeling too old to bother with all this

Combined order, one postage charge - not enough for the combined weight

A buyer has bought 4 items in one transaction, but the postage label has come through for one which is now not sufficient to post all 4 items within the allowed weight limit. Is this a setting I missed on my listing? Is there anything I can do about it? If I take the parcel and QR code to the post office, can I just pay the balance or will they have to start again with a new postage order / tracking code? I'd be grateful of any advice / experience please. I am a private seller.

I have a selling account, had it for 20 years, ..eBay now want Photo ID?

Had an selling account for 20 years (this isnt it) I'm a UK seller,  haven't sold a great deal, feedback is still under 1000,  last year after about a year of not using the account I started to sell again, not a lot but eBay first treated me like I hadn't been a member for 20 years and insisted on holding some of the sales (low value s/h items) until I confirmed my bank account (which i'd done a couple of years prior). they wanted to send me a certain amount and I was to confirm etc, they also restricted the value of the items I could sell so I had to ask them via live chat to up the limits or a car I was selling would not list etc, in the end after a few sales things seemed to correct themselves and I was paid straight away for items> Roll on to may 2024, I've sold a few items over the months, in the last 2 weeks i've sold an item at £225 and one at £125, both collection only, both items have had no problems and i have a couple more items listed. Not electrical goods or high value items etc.  just normal stuff, some new and unused, most second hand and used etc So today I logged on, I get a pop up stating they wanted me to ID myself, this would be in the form of a driving licence, passport or govt ID...and oh by the way any transactions are held until I comply?    I don't sell high value / high risk items, I have 100% feedback,  I've had zero returns , my bank account is verified, they have my email address (verified with them some time ago, they send me emails re items listed or sold, email has notnot changed) they send me texts to my phone re delivery notices if i've bought something to collect, my physical address has not changed in all the time i've had the selling account. and now they want the ID from me, no warning, no time schedule to complete but simply comply and until I do any funds are to be held over. Furthermore, they want the ID but don't actually tell me where it will be stored, who will have access to it and such like all of which seems very wrong. Anyone else had this?

      eBay Is Dead

I am thinking eBay as a selling platform is dead since the seller protection was added ? I wonder if eBay have notice the decline in sellers since new rules started . In my 20 years of selling on eBay Ive never seen it like this I have 20 watchers on my account , most of them are still selling but their sales have fallen to almost to nothing over the last 2 months and a few sellers have gone from the platform , its like all the buyers have gone   I wonder if eBay have notice the fall in sales or do they really care anymore Is eBay a sicking ship and now doomed ?

Evri destroyed the parcel I sent. I refunded the buyer, how do I claim against Evri?

I sold an item for about £45, purchased shipping via eBay, packaged it up with ample packaging material and a decent box. It arrived as if someone had jumped on it and was broken. The buyer sent photos and it was crushed when it was left by their door. I refunded the buyer their money but now cannot see how to claim against Evri for the damage. I submitted a claim to Evri directly but they are saying I have to go through eBay, meanwhile every time I try to search the help database eBay decides I am a bot and interrupts my search :( ARGH! Can anyone point me at what I should do?

      EBAY OVERALL COMMENT AND INFO

I Have had a fairly seamless sales strategy with eBay this year, from posting items to getting sales to collecting my profits. My sales are my main line business as a ltd company which makes life a bit easier. But the only niggle i have is the fees eBay charge, even if you cover the eBay fees in your pricing you are still no where near as competitive to the specific market and most likely wont make many sales. Is there a way around this or is this apart of the eBay stragery?

      Neutral after only 3 days.

I have received a neutral feedback for an item bought and paid for on 15th July,it was received on 18th July when the neutral was left. I was under the impression that to leave a neutral or negative for a seller you had to wait 7 days before leaving it.The neutral I received seems to have been left only a short while after they got the item. Not worried about the feedback itself (first in 20 years!) but the timeframe in which it was given. I have replied to the feedback and am OK to leave it as it is not really damaging and I think anyone seeing it (and my response) would not be worried about it. What would you do? Can I report the timing to anyone?

Other sellers using my photos and descriptions

I pride myself on taking my own photos and writing my own descriptions for the items I sell on ebay, as I think it builds buyer trust. However other sellers have started using my photos and descriptions when selling similar items. Do I have any comeback with ebay to stop them from doing this? If so how do I go about it? I am not happy to put hours of work into my listings only for someone else to steal them without asking. Thanks in advance, Jon.

Special Delivery label with incomplete address. Something new?

Casual seller. Always pay postage. Use eBay Special Delivery labels. PO tracked and drop off at local PO. This time noticed label did not have buyer's full address only the locale and postcode with "deliver to local PO". Very odd. No idea what to do so posted. It has been delivered to the PO but the postcode is not even the buyer's. She also says she has had an offer of £68 which is less that what she paid and very odd. What is going on? Re the label has eBay decided the cost for the PO to deliver to home addresses too high so now all go to local PO? Buyer and I are in communication and item is at PO not miles from her but that's not the point!

Request for Advice Regarding Refund Due to Courier Delay

Hi, I would like to seek your advice regarding a refund request raised by one of my customers. We processed and dispatched the order on time. However, the delivery company delayed the shipment due to circumstances beyond our control. As a result, the customer has now requested a refund because of the late delivery. Could you please advise me on how I should proceed in this situation? I would appreciate your guidance on the appropriate next steps?
