Buyer insists item not received although marked delivered

Buyer not received Item although marked delivered. I have an image from tracking and a photo of the back door as mentioned on tracking. The buyer cliams they have nothing. They have gone around to all the neighbors, and nothing anywhere. Strange the buyer requested a photo of the back door. I asked for an image of their back door first. I didn't hear anything for 2 days. Now the buyer then asks what is happening. I mentioned I still need an image of the back door. They sent one over, and it wasn't the door I have from the courier. I have done my research on this buyer with extra images of their property from google. The buyer still insists they only have one door to the property. I have asked the buyer to open An Item Not Received case. Now the buyer is asking for an image of the courier photo. I told them to open a case. What would you do in this situation ? Thanks for the long read

How long will these boards survive?

I'm not going to accuse eBay of any pre-meditation, but how long do you think these boards are going to survive? The new format is extremely user-unfriendly, far less intuitive than the previous format. Footfall has dropped dramatically. Only six questions have received any responses at all in the last 24 hours, and one of those is a long-running thread filled with criticisms of the new format. If they could improve the visual format to make it look more professional, people might give it a chance, but it's really just a complete mess now. It has become pretty much pointless, and I can't help thinking eBay are bound to pull the plug sooner, rather than later, as they did with the weekly chat session.

How do you list anything bigger than 61cm? Part two.

Haven't had much time on this yet but first attempts with this new listing format today is like this to get back to your own carrier who will take your large/small items, (preview works, not tested with listing):   Still start with over £750 - £800 is easy enough. Weight - go to 40Kg as this will be above the 30Kg DHL will supposedly take when they come on board soon. Dimensions - put these high enough to surpass the DHL  120cm x 80cm x 80cm size limit. This ensures that the package is oversized. At the end is an option for cash on collection - who knows if this will work in practice? The annoying part is having to create postage policy and payment policy now.   Anyone up for trying it out - I haven't got time to find something to list right now to check it out for proof of working - family business taking my time at present. A bit of a faff around again 😎     Create a postage policy:       Select postage method, small to medium items appears to suffice here, the oversize reappears at the end:         Add primary service - up to 4 possible. Buyer pays or free again, you can include your packaging in the cost here:     Immediate payment or CASH ON COLLECTION selection!

Automatically enrolled into 'Click & Collect' again ? Site error ?

Noticed a couple of days ago all my listings are now showing 'Click & Collect' even though I have opted out of this feature. My postage preferences still show as 'not enrolled'. I toggled it on/off, didn't change anything. I understand if you offer evri or inpost it happens automatically, but again, I only send through royal mail.    I then assumed it was a temporary glitch on the site, but days later I'm still enrolled, despite all my settings saying otherwise. Basically, is this happening to anyone else ?

Other sellers using my photos and descriptions

I pride myself on taking my own photos and writing my own descriptions for the items I sell on ebay, as I think it builds buyer trust. However other sellers have started using my photos and descriptions when selling similar items. Do I have any comeback with ebay to stop them from doing this? If so how do I go about it? I am not happy to put hours of work into my listings only for someone else to steal them without asking. Thanks in advance, Jon.

      eBay Is Dead

I am thinking eBay as a selling platform is dead since the seller protection was added ? I wonder if eBay have notice the decline in sellers since new rules started . In my 20 years of selling on eBay Ive never seen it like this I have 20 watchers on my account , most of them are still selling but their sales have fallen to almost to nothing over the last 2 months and a few sellers have gone from the platform , its like all the buyers have gone   I wonder if eBay have notice the fall in sales or do they really care anymore Is eBay a sicking ship and now doomed ?

eBay Simple Delivery - Buyer gets no option to choose couriers?

Okay, so today I learned that despite selecting all 3 couriers in the back end using Simple Delivery, the buyer is not given the option to choose on the product page end during checkout?   What's the point of choosing if eBay makes the selection for you?   There is also a normal delivery and a expedited option, but again, you aren't told who the courier is.   I had someone buy an item, but request after for it to be changed to RM and not Evri, I had to get him to cancel whilst I revised the item to allow only Royal Mail as the options, then revise the item again to put the other options back on (Evri, RM and inPost).   I then did a test purchase with an old account and found the same problem, no option to choose.   Why doesn't eBay allow buyers to choose couriers?     Below is when I did a test purchase to see what options you get, as you can see, you are forced to select either standard or Express (or Click and collect), but not the courier you prefer.

THE NEW PLATFORM - FOR BETTER OR WORSE?

WORSE 1.  Nesting.  Debatable whether it’s a good idea in theory, but in practice it means that nested new comments are too difficult to find. 2.  No pagination.  You can get a [mostly] chronological order by switching the viewing to Oldest.  But then you have to scroll, scroll, scroll and keep scrolling because now there’s no pagination so you can’t just click to the last page. 3.  Posts not dated.  OK you can hover over where it says “a week ago” and see the date/time, but what was the benefit in hiding the actual date/time?  It’s much more useful to be able to see the actual date of posts. 4.  Number of comments.  Nested comments don’t appear to be counted in the number of comments.  So if you’re following a thread and you know it previously had X comments, you could miss nested comments because the thread will still show X comments. 5.  No messaging system.  Previously it was one click to send a private message.  Now you can only message people by using several clicks via their Profile>Listing>Contact>Notaboutan item. 6.  Finding your own post in Profile.  So I’m scrolling through my posts to try and find a previous one, but if it was a “nested” one, it doesn’t show the name of the thread, just who I’ve replied to.  That makes it more difficult to find the post I want.  And even when I clicked on one of the posts, it didn’t take me to the post, only to the thread. BETTER 1.  AI summary.  Not very useful for general discussion threads, but could be useful when the OP starts a very long complex thread, particularly one which has no paragraph breaks and not very coherent.  I haven’t got the patience to read those, but I might read the AI summary. 2. Images are easier to load, and you can now use .png images instead of having to convert the .png to a .jpg. VERDICT I’m sure the usual “people don’t like change” brigade will laud the new platform, as usual ignoring the fact that it’s change for the worse that people don’t like.  I’m sure I posted previously (but I can’t find it) a comment that ebay might make the forum so difficult to use that it discourages people from using it and only people with a desperate problem will go to the trouble.  If that was the aim, I think they’ve achieved it.  Certainly I think the nested format makes it difficult to use and it’s a deal-breaker for me, I really can’t be a…. with it. EDIT - 18.6.26, 9pm Having used the forum some more since my first post, I can add several more aspects that are worse than the previous platform. 7.  Titles of Unread threads used to be in bold.  Now you can’t tell whether or not a thread has new posts that you haven’t read.  It’s a nuisance. 8.   Mentors are no longer identified, except in the M2M section of the forum.  On many occasions I’ve explained to newbies that mentors can virtually always be relied on to give trustworthy advice (which isn’t to say that many others don’t also give accurate advice).  What’s the point of having mentors if nobody knows who they are.   Edit . It looks like the mentors have become “volunteers” now, but who knows what “volunteers” are, and their status isn't obvious anyway unless you click on their profile.  It’s ridiculous! And in any case, we're all volunteers seeing as none of us get paid for posting here! 9.  Can’t see who last replied to a thread.  One mentor in particular has commented that it’s causing them problems and they might only bother with the M2M board now.  I agree it’s a nuisance. 10.  Autosave has disappeared.  That’s another nuisance. 11.  No Preview button.  I nearly always used the Preview button on the other forum - I found that viewing my post as others would view it highlighted if it made sense or not, and I often made changes to make the meaning clearer. 12.  Posts aren’t numbered.  I sometimes noted the ID number of a helpful post so that I could easily go back to it.  You can’t bookmark posts either on this forum. Again it's a nuisance. 13.  Trying to find a post on Profile > Discussions > Comments is difficult because it doesn’t show the title of thread that the posts are in. 14.  The emojis that have replaced the “Kudos” button are anonymous, so now you can’t see who has “liked” a post which is a shame.  Seeing who liked what enabled you to get a sense of what people were like and help build the community spirit that forums are normally supposed to engender. 15.  I’ve seen other people say that it loads faster, but it doesn’t load faster for me, quite the opposite in fact.  It sometimes takes so long to load that I get a Gateway Timeout, or a blank page and the message “Something went wrong. Failed to load tags”.  (Mac laptop using Firefox latest version). All in all, I think it’s a disaster, and I’m sorry, ebay, but I doubt if many of us are surprised because it seems that whenever you change something, it always ends up worse than before.  AFAIK, nobody had complained about the Khoros platform, and whilst I understand that you may have had to change due to technical or financial considerations, why did you have to choose this Bevy one because it seems vastly inferior to the previous board, or any other board that I’ve ever belonged to.  Somebody has suggested that vBulletin would have been better, and I agree, or ProBoards, or surely ebay is big enough to design & build your own board instead of buying into a 3rd party board. Anyway it’s just all too cumbersome and annoying for me now, and I’ve seen other people say that they no longer want to spend time here either.  I may look in from time to time to see if any improvements have been made, particularly to the nesting nonsense and a few of the other major nuisances, but otherwise this is the only thread I'm reading seeing as I'm the OP.  I still have a sneaking suspicion that the aim of changing to this board was to encourage a cull of users….

Cant see the forest cause the trees are in the way

just a thought, its now been a year and a half since i have not been able to send combined invoices, some people manage to but for 90% of sales it wont work, this could be fixed but is not being addressed, a few days ago i packed 12 separate orders which could have combined on to one order, a bit bad for me as the transaction order fee of 30 pence meant an extra £3.60 out of my money, although very good for Ebay, yes even more money going their way. But has anybody stopped to think of the down side for Ebay, deserted carts where buyers see the multiple postage costs and are not prepared to accept that the seller will refund the excess so they ditch the sale, these buyers are going they are leaving, they cant understand why they cant just buy things normally like everywhere else on the planet, the buying experience needs to stay simple and with absolute clarity if you want to keep them coming back, this avenue we have all gone down, is the wrong way, open your eyes to the decay we are seeing, its the wrong way. the extra money on the transaction order fees will slowly dry up and this golden goose extra income for Ebay wont have been worth all that has been sacrificed by the sellers, the buyers and eventually Ebay. It is suffocating OUR marketplace.

Shall I just refund this guy because the postage is far too complicated

I've sold two large items, the buyer has asked if I can combine postage but I had to apologize and say no because the parcel would be far too big and offered to cancel. He's agreed to pay both postages. Buyer paid. Now I downloaded both labels but they're both the same they've got the same tracking number on??? The royal main male are not going to accept two parcels with the same tracking number on? Should I just refund the guy because this is just getting far too complicated for me?

Front-line support refusing to escalate £1,300 Authenticator damage case - Need Community Manager help"

Dear Executive Resolutions Team, I am writing to formally escalate the wrongful denial of my appeal regarding a trading card sold for £1,300. The card was rejected by the authenticator for pre-existing surface scratches. I accepted this decision. However, the card was subsequently physically damaged by the authenticator prior to or during the return packaging process. It was returned to me with blunt corners and extensive new scratching. The external return packaging arrived entirely undamaged, proving this damage occurred inside the authentication facility. I have attached direct photographic evidence comparing eBay’s own official inspection photos against the card's current condition upon arrival. As you can see, the corners are perfectly sharp in eBay’s photos, but are blunted and frayed now. Under the eBay Seller Protection Policy, eBay is fully liable for items damaged while in the custody of its authentication partners or transit couriers. Please review this evidence manually. I expect a full payout of the £1,300 sale price to resolve this matter. If this is not resolved within 14 days, I will escalate this to the Financial Ombudsman Service and initiate a claim via Money Claim Online (Small Claims Court) for property damage under the laws of bailment, without further notice. Sincerely, Daniel

Urgent Support Required: Seller Fee Fraud & Faulty Item – Order #18-14233-62411

I am contacting you to request immediate intervention regarding my order #18-14233-62411 (Laptop). The seller has engaged in policy-violating behavior and has essentially taken extra money from me under false pretenses. Here are the details of what occurred: The Issue: I purchased a laptop and used it for a month, after which the battery failed. I contacted the seller within the eligible return/contact window to report the fault. The Return Dispute: The seller agreed to a return but expected me to pay for postage. When I went to the Post Office, the return shipping quote was £30 , which is incredibly expensive. Under eBay policy, the seller is responsible for return shipping on faulty items. The Fee Scam: The seller then offered to send me a shipping barcode if I sent them £20 directly. The Breach: I trusted the seller and sent the £20. However, as soon as they received the money, they refused to send the return barcode and have ceased helpful communication.
