I have been an eBay business seller for almost 20 years.ebay has never been more difficult to turn a profit. Everyone should have a really in-depth look at there selling fees if using promoted listings. I had all my listings set at 2% as advised at eBay open and eBay reps on phone. But on closer inspection I seem to be paying 5% for promotions. I will be removing all promotion on 1st december.if everyone does the same we could all save a lot of extra fees.

·5 months agoI find with my listings that my views on my promoted listings are 50% lower than Organic listings but this may be due to the type of items I sell.
I do not remove a listing if it has viewings on it, as a viewing buyer may buy and |I would still be charged for the past promoted viewing.'

·5 months agoThe listing needs to be in the campaign at point of sale for an ad fee to be charged as per the attribution model change late last year.
If you remove a listing from a campaign with views and a person who previously viewed the item then purchased it, you wouldn't be charged an ad fee for it.

·6 months agoI've noticed today that a few of my promoted listings as increased from 2% to 12% without my knowledge or doing. I will now keep a close watch.

·6 months agoI'm paying for Promoted up to 17% as I was stunned to see for one item. Nothing is selling. I had been trying 0.99p start and no reserve in the run up to Christmas and that is all things were bringing. Postage is difficult for me due to the locations of Post Offices in Edinburgh so having fewer things to post but selling for proper prices would be worth it.

OP5 months agoDon't bother with high percentage promotions. Unless you are selling brand new iPads and there are hundreds of other sellers selling exactly same item it would get you to top. Otherwise not with it. We had 1700 items promoted.canceld all but 5 and we have never had a busier spell of sales since we stopped promoting
