why have ebay stopped using anyone but royal mail in the UK? Evri were prompt, reliable, friendly efficient, and now I am stuck with royal snail deliveries, which are very slow, have zero tracking, don't even know when they will get here, and when they do, they are dropped on the floor, I don't even know they have been delivered - only one step up from yodel.
and no tressy girl, they are pushed onto sellers who have no choice.

Royal Mail isn't mandatory for sellers although as the main carrier in the UK then naturally many will choose to use them.
EBay's Simple Delivery mainly utilises Royal Mail, Evri, and InPost with eBay generally determining which is to be used. However, sellers are able to opt out of a particular carrier if they wish although eBay does reserve the right to override that selection in exceptional circumstances.
Personally, I have not experienced any significant problems with Royal Mail, or Evri for that matter.

Haven't sold much in a while but ebay only control the postage for those using Simple Delivery and even then - sellers can choose to opt out of any courier if they wish.
And many do make it clear on these forums that they exclude Evri - because they have the opposite experience to you.

It is a pity the buyer cannot ask for the provider of the best service in their area - that would be too much hard work for ebay I suppose

·1 week agoTrue - ebay took Simple Delivery from Vinted. But allowing Buyer choice wasn't something they copied over.

·1 week agoIt would be a definite improvement if buyers could choose which carrier they want to be used but eBay probably feel that doing so would cause too many problems with the projected volumes upon which their contracts with the carriers are based.
