Trying to combine postage for three items after buyer has paid
Summary: sandyt2123 is trying to combine postage for three items sold to the same buyer, who has already paid separate postage fees for each item. tressygirl suggests canceling the orders with the buyer's agreement and relisting them as one to manage the postage correctly. Other participants explain that unused labels will lead to automatic refunds for the buyer within 30 days, but emphasize the importance of having tracking information for proof of delivery. sandyt2123 has reached out to the buyer with these suggestions.
Hi, I have just sold three separate items to the same buyer. The postage for each item is £3.38 each - making £10.14. I would like to combine all three items in one box so that the postage is just £3.38. The buyer is paying for postage, and has asked if I can combine the items. But as the buyer has already paid for all three including postage (which I don't receive), how can he get refund of that postage?
Hope there is an easy answer because I can't think of one.
Thanks

·1 week agoIf you only use one of the labels then, as they were 'Buyer pays postage, your buyer will be automatically refunded for the unused labels within 30 days.
The problem that you will have by doing that is that you won't be able to mark the other two items as despatched or add tracking to prove delivery. You will still receive payment though 14 days after date of order, if you haven't already, and if the buyer opens an 'Item not received' claim you will be able to upload the tracking for the label that you used.

·1 week agoPresumably this is simple delivery. If you were to use just one of the labels…
Any labels you don’t use the customer will be refunded for in 30 days.
You however won’t have proof of delivery of the two items for the labels you didn’t use so would not be paid for 14 days (not withstanding any other holds on your account). the buyer could also claim none delivery of the other two items though you could provide the tracking code you do use on any case the buyer opens.

OP1 week agoFor some reason I can't see the reply to my question which I have received. Can anyone advise?

·1 week agoThe buyer did not proceed correctly, they needed to put all items inti their basket first, then the item would be combined for postage.
Too late now, and nothing can be changed.
Best way forward is to cancel the orders with the buyer's agreement, so citing Buyer Requests to Cancel, this fully refunds them and doesn't affect your seller performance.
Then, relisting them together as one item for the buyer to buy and pay again. You will have that one all important tracking number to cover both items .
A refund is sent to whoever paid for the SD label:
If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days
If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.
