So, how much is everyone enjoying SIMPLE DELIVERY after a latest shakedown?

My packages have changed from £2.85 last week to £5.80 this week.
To add to the grief, actual postage via Royal Mail is £3.65.
I've just spent an hour wasting my time trying to understand the massive jump in price. EBAY NOW HAVE A MONOPOLY on our postage choices.
It seems that ebay have different price windows to Royal Mail, e.g. up to 1kg and small package. So they've charged the full amount for a full size small package at 1kg in weight. My packages are smaller and weigh 250g max.
We've already lost the right to cover the costs of packaging - I pay around £1 for each item mailed but can no longer add this to "POSTAGE & PACKAGING".
Ebay don't care as, we all know, buyers will simply reduce offers to reflect the rise in postage costs. Not much to ebay but £2 on every package adds up.

·2 days agoYou need to bear in mind that for items over £75 you would need to be using Royal Mail Special Delivery (the prices for which start at around £10) to get the same level of protection as Simple Delivery provides. Ebay has now added signature requirement for some items (no details yet but presumably will be added automatically to higher value items) so at the very least you need to be comparing with the Royal Mail Tracked Signed For prices for items over £75, athough that service still only provides protection up to £75 when purchased direct.
Packaging costs can be added to the item price instead. The buyer has to pay for it either way so really makes no difference.
Either you have a very large personal collection of watches or you should be using a Business Seller account which would give you the freedom to charge whatever you want for postage and packaging.

·2 days agoI have looked at your items. You have only one listed that would be covered for loss up to £20 with Royal Mail 2nd class. All the others up to £260 need more than this to insure them in transit. You are complaining about simple delivery but looking at what you sell you should really be on a business account which would allow you to set your own costs for postage and packaging.
