The items I sell are generally sent by ordinary letters post at under 100grms, soon to be £1.80 first classpost and with proof of posting compensation up to £20 is enough BUT Ebay simple delivery will cost upwards of £2.94 based on small parcel rates and that is just wrong. I am not going to send letters via couriers or payunnecessary parcel post rates. Yes the buyer has to make the choice, knowing in advance of postal costs but also knowing they are best part of twice what they should be. The listing price for the primary service should be raised to £20 (Royal Mail compensation rate with proof of posting) to eliminate this unfair practice, which should then be re-thought.
