Selling in Europe
Summary: classic_remains2002 shared their experience of running a classic car parts business on eBay for over 20 years. They mentioned having to block sales to certain European countries due to the cost of obtaining a packaging license, which they estimate at £300 annually per country.
Hi all, we have had a business selling classic car parts on eBay for over 20 years. We used to sell a lot parts to Europe, however, due to the packaging licence we have blocked these countries which is a shame. If we understand it correctly the licence cost is £300 annually for each country. Has anyone else had experience of this, or still selling to Europe. We starting going through the process but it all got a bit confusing to be honest. Would the new replacement for GSP be able to incorporate this into its costs or simplify it? Any advise would be welcome. Thank you.

·1 month agoI also have a business account and yes its about 300 quid per country, I have binned Europe but so far Switzerland has not adopted the regulations, they have deferred it to next year with a small chance of adoption in 2030, needless to say a snake oil salesman from a company affiliated with a certain online platform offered to sought my Switzerland problem for 300 quid even though there’s no problem to fix, from what vague information we have been told about GSP its being replaced with EIS, they say they may offer a solution but with all the variables involved and that ebay want clean easy work and money I thinks its highly unlikely, I also see on the ebay boards on .com many user of GSP EIS are not being offered services to Europe, there listings are telling buyers in Europe they can buy but get knocked back when they try to buy so usual ebay standard CS.
