Sellers who just can't tell the truth
Getting sick to death, with ever increasing lying sellers stating items are in the UK when they know full well they are drop shipping from the likes of Temu, Aliexpress etc etc it just annoys people expecting what they buy to be ordered in a more timely fashion than it takes to ship from China.
Why oh why doesn't eBay stop these seller blatantly lying ?

·1 week agoI have complained about this for years. I have reported it too many times. Ebay really does not care,..Fraud is king and caveat emptor.

·1 week agoThe location shows that of where the item is ' located' not the seller. Many / most Chinese sellers, will use forwarding Companies / depots here in the UK, to facilitate a faster dispatch
You can check though before buying.
Click on seller's feedback score, and the Feedback Profile page will show the country of registration for that seller.

OP1 week agoI always ask specifically before ordering anything and always told the same thing, "yes we dispatch from UK" just so deceitful.

OP1 week agoHere is just one of many examples.
I purposely asked the following of the seller "24 Jun 2026 Please tell me this is NOT coming from China." The reply was "No, we are a UK-based supplier and your order is supplied from the UK. Kind regards. 09:27. Item arrived and where from? yep, you guessed it, CHINA !!!! WHY OH WHY CAN'T SELLERS JUST BE HONEST WITH PEOPLE?

·1 week agoI have seen and known, that "the country of registration for that seller." can be abused.

·1 week agoThat’s slightly different to what the OP is talking about. That is an international seller with a UK warehouse. So the claim of a UK location for the item would be correct.
What the OP is saying is there are sellers (and their certainly are) who claim UK item location, and may even show as a UK seller but in fact ship from outside the UK.
To the OP You could of course report the item as not as described but would need to return the item. Enough of those claims and eBay will eventually do something about the seller ( though it most likely is a hydra style scenario here)
