Seller refund if the item goes missing?

I have just had notification that I will have to refund a buyer for an item not received via Evri. The buyer had buyer protection and after 2 weeks Evri have marked the case as security alert suspected stolen. Why do I have to refund?

I presume you mean that the tracking shows that? In which case that shouldn't affect your protection under the terms for Simple Delivery and you should have just received an email from eBay stating that as you used Simple Delivery they would be dealing with it.
