Royal Mail 2nd Class Headaches Plus eBay Unachievable Delivery Dates
Summary: giftbox-online expressed frustration with Royal Mail's delivery service failing to meet its aims for 2nd class letters, compounded by eBay's inaccurate estimated delivery dates given to buyers. c_of_e84 provided a link to Royal Mail's service updates, suggesting adjusting dispatch times to avoid defects. uppergrounddecals agreed, noting the discrepancy affects their profits and results in frequent 'Item Not Received' claims. They have adjusted their handling time to mitigate these issues but still find selling on these platforms frustrating despite the high traffic.
I'm sure it's been thrashed out on here many times, especially over Christmas and New Year last, but are other sellers also seeing a return of RM failing on their delivery aims of what is now 3 working days for 2nd class letters and large letters?
These last 2 weeks it seems to be getting worse again. What doesn't help is eBay advertising to buyers inaccurate estimated delivery dates. Example, item sold yesterday, advised that I have until today to ship, estimated delivery date shown to customer is tomorrow. Which, even under RM's old 2nd class rules, in most cases, won't be achieved.

·2 weeks agoYes I agree the estimated time eBay gives, and the service that Royal Mail deliver is way off and effecting my profits.
My INR are now weekly.
I have just adjusted my handling to 3 day and hope that even though I do same day shipping on most orders the longer handling time will stop the trigger-happy INR buyers from sending a claim 1 minute after expected delivery date.
Also, these INR trigger-happy buyers always have so much attitude in their messages.
I have to bite my tongue.
I must admit, selling on any of these platforms is a pain in the rectum, I hate it, but it brings traffic, and i cba to make a website
