return scams
Summary: n-jann is facing issues with buyers marking items as 'not as described' to avoid paying return postage on low-cost iPad cases. They are seeking advice on how to address this since eBay has discontinued the process that allowed them to deduct postage from buyers. rehmachaut-0 responds, expressing uncertainty about the solution, and suggests that it should be a common knowledge for sellers.
Hi
we sell low cost cases for iPad Tablets,in our listings we have written that return postage has to be paid by buyers,when the buyers receive the item,and when they want to return it,and dont want to pay the return postage,they mark the item " not as described:for all a £6.99 item,we have to pay £3.00 postage,and now ebay has discontinued the process through which we would deduct the postage from buyers ourselves,does somebody know how to resolve this situation?is there a way that there is an option where buyers cannot simply buy the return postage label from ebay?or if thats not possible,can de easily deduct the postage from our buyes ourselves?thanks.

Hi @n-jann , thanks for your post.
I see what you mean. However, if a buyer states that an item is damaged or it isn't as described as it was on the listing, they are entitled to open a return under damaged/not as described and the seller would have to cover the costs of the return as per our Money Back Guarantee policy. If you believe the seller is misusing our policies, you can report them here, and then you can dispute this with us as well as per our returned items policy, but please note that since we don't handle the items, we cannot guarantee that the dispute will be resolved in your favor.
Thank you,
Marco
