Hi @welshcher , thanks for your post.
As advised above, if the buyer filed an item not as described claim, and you didn't action it and it timed out, or weren't able to reach an agreement for the return with the buyer, then the buyer can ask us to step in, and if this was the case, we would refund the buyer without them being required to return the item.
This is why it is important to action cases, and contact us before the 3 business have passed in case there are any issues.
If you want, you can confirm the item number, and I'd be happy to take a look for you. However, please note that if this is what happened, we won't be able to take further actions.
Thank you,
Marco

OP2 weeks agoHe contacted me straight away and I offered him a refund and he said he would return the item . He keeps asking me for a return label . I haven’t got one and have offered to pay for the return label. This is an item worth over £50 and I haven’t no way of getting it back. I feel he is being obstructing and I am unable to get help from eBay

·2 weeks agoA case must have been opened by the buyer in order to get a refund.
You need to check and see what actually happened.
Did you refund the customer yourself? Or was a case opened? If so, what case?
Normally when cases like item not as described are opened - there is the option within the case to provide a return label - you can even purchase them from ebay.

Thanks for your reply, @welshcher .
Again, without the item number, I could not give you a proper answer as I wouldn't have the case details. Happy to take a look for you if you confirm the item number.
Thank you,
Marco

Thanks for confirming, @welshcher .
I've just reviewed this case for you, and this case was actioned by us. We closed the case in the buyer's favor without impacting your account, this means we've refunded the buyer ourselves, and the refund came from us, not you.
If you go check your case, the email notification we sent you about it, and your payments section, you can see all of this, so you can see proof of what I've just said above. Just to clarify, you're not out of funds, and you kept the original payment.
Regarding the item, it is completely up to you and the buyer now, so if you still want the item, you will have to work out the return with them directly. However, please note that at this point, the buyer is not required to send the item back nor pay for the return if they don't wish to. Same for you, you are not obliged to take the item back or pay for the return in case they buyer wants to return the item at your expense.
Hope this helps,
Marco

·2 weeks agoDid your buyer open a not as described claim and you declined or let it time out ?.
If so they get a full refund and are not obliged to return item as Ebay see it as you not wanting the item back.
It's between you and the buyer now.
