Prepaid postage label - how to pay extra postage to my customer
I have double boxed an item for safety and it now it is larger and weighs more more than anticipated. The prepaid label for Royal Mail won't be enough to cover postage.
I"m happy to pay the extra myself but how do I go about it?

·1 month agoYou may be able to change size and/or weight of the label. Click on Get Prepaid Label and under the heading Package details click on the pencil icon and you should get: "No extra charge. Changing your package size won’t cost you anything." Then use the dropdown menu to change dimension or weight.
If that doesn't work you cannot add to the pre-paid label. You have to buy a different label. The safest way is to cancel/refund the transaction with the buyer's agreement (via the dropdown menu arrow for the item on your orders list) and relist with correct postage for the buyer to buy and pay again.
The alternative is to buy and pay for the correct postage yourself. To get buyer's address and mark dispatched you still need to generate the original prepaid label (Get prepaid label > Print label). It will remain unused. However you cannot add a new tracking number. All you can do is message the buyer with the new tracking details. You would still be able to add the new number to a "Not received" case if the buyer opened one though.
If the buyer paid for the unused label it will be automatically refunded to them in 30 days.
