Posting Small Letters under 100g
Any ideas how I send a small letter as whenever I list it only shows Simple postage option not custom , small letter below 100g shouldn’t be 2.72
Any ideas anyone , I am a private seller if that makes a difference , never had a issue in past just last month or so
Thanks Paul

·2 weeks agoI have the same problem. The only way I found that works is to set the postage to free and add the cost of 91p on to the item. Then when you go to purchase a label the option is there for a small letter. I list all my items using my phone but when I go to edit the postage options on a desktop I can select small letter on the listing. Very frustrating and time consuming so I found the 1st option best. It seems EBay are just trying to make things difficult and stop us from using small letters. I guess they’ve had a lot of orders going missing and want everything to be tracked when using simple delivery. Hope that helps.

·1 month agoThe custom postage opt out also only applies in select categories (its not just the weight and size). ebay don't advise what these categories are, or if they change the categories it applies to - so the category you list in is likely the issue.

·2 weeks agoI have noticed this and cannot use it as It is a guessing game and likely I will lose knowing eBay and the actual cost that they will charge me for will be more.
It has stopped me selling smaller items of low value now. Though the trick listed here is maybe a solution.
To be honest though I am sick of it, something changes on eBay every month and the only time you find out is when you try it.
They have also screwed the selling of wood working planes and chisels for me with extra charges and difficulty selecting posting because they have put age restrictions on them. No one has ever been deliberately stabbed with a place blade ever and there is only one case of chisel being used in the last 20 odd years. The law does not even require them to on these items as I understand it!
So I won’t be selling them on the future and maybe not bothering with cassette tapes and small coins either.
I will carry on selling the ornaments and other bits I can sell with clear postage for the time being but am seriously considering if there is any future selling on these platforms.
