Can someone please make this email make sense?
I sent this item by simple delivery so it was tracked via eBay. It was under 2Kg so I chose the appropriate label and paid the amount due. The item was delivered successfully on the 27th July.
Today I received this email stating that i had exceeded the measurements declared and that there would be and extra charge which eBay (thank goodness) covered, I don't know what I would have done otherwise. The extra cost was £0.00?

Length: 45cm
Width: 35cm
Depth: 16cm
Weight limit: 2kg
They must be saying it is a medium parcel due to the size. The problem is if the seller has all couriers enabled who allow different sizes for a small parcel then it can be impossible to cover all bases and there isn’t a great deal you can do differently.

OP3 weeks agoThanks for the reply, I appreciate it. The item was a small PC keyboard (approx. 38cm long, and 14cm wide) even with cardboard packaging it would not have exceeded the maximum allowable size limits of a small parcel, I'm confused ? also the cost adjustment of £0.00?

·3 weeks agoEbay has simply acted according to the simple delivery T&Cs under which they currently cover the charge. They are simply warning you to check sizes as they may not continue to charge £0.00.

·3 weeks ago · EditedMaybe it was really borderline on the 45cm length and went a tad over. To be honest I’d still list it as small up to 2kg in future and not worry about it.
Edit: I pressed comment before I finished typing out. I’d add, for anything that is borderline again, just take pictures of the measurements in case you do get a charge and have to dispute it. I’m not sure whether you have just RM or other couriers enabled but if you have them all switched on eBay must know that you cannot get this right every time.

OP3 weeks agoThanks again for the response, I really do appreciate it. I'm just going to get on and forget about it, giving the buyer the choice of who they want a courier is always enabled. RM on this occasion obviously has an issue about something, whatever! the buyer got the item, I'm not out of pocket and all is good .
