Person Did Not Collect Hat At Customs In Germany
Person just emailed me regarding a hat I sent to Germany over a month ago. They said it had not left this country which, according to tracking it had, they did not collect the hat so it is heading back to me. They want their money back now even though this is the first I have heard of the problem.

·1 week agoHow did you ship it?
Where did you buy the shipping label from?
Did you use the correct HS code for the item?
Have you checked the tracking to see if there were any custom fees that needed to be paid by the buyer?
Did the buyer pay the fees?
You also have to hope that the paperwork created for the item coming back to you is done correctly or you will have to pay import duty on it before you get it back.

OP1 week agoI bought the 'Shipping' label - in Scotland we call them postage labels - at the Post Office as Ebay would not provide a simple delivery or GSP label to Germany. I let the Post Mistress fill in the details. On the tracking there is no mention of custom fees.
I haven't a clue about who fills in the paperwork at the other end but you make it sound so ominous that I shall cease all of sales until this is sorted out

·1 week agoYes ebay has stopped GSP to europe but are launching EIS to replace it and it should work for the EU, if the post mistress did the paperwork at the counter you paid extra for them to look up the HS code, when or if you get it back as its germany there will be a yellow sticker on the item which you can translate to find the reason for return.

·1 week agoBuyer has 30 days from the estimated delivery date on the listing to get a refund via ebay. After that they would have to ask their payment provider. If they do nothing wait to get it back and then you should refund their money.
