Parcel not at collection location
Summary: esandess experienced an issue with a parcel not being available at a collection point despite tracking indicating delivery. They contacted eBay, which initially escalated the issue but had not responded promptly. yorkshire*flower suggested contacting eBay again and considering a chargeback. Eventually, esandess received a refund from eBay, even though the system still showed the parcel as awaiting collection. The issue was resolved approximately 30 minutes after they posted about it.
Hi all,
I bought an item and selected deliver to a local collection point (Spar Shop).
I received tracking from DHL saying item delivered on 12th August. Email from ebay saying would be held until 19th August.
I call in to collect on 18th August and staff claim the parcel isn't there and may have been returned already.
Tracking still shows on ebay as awaiting collection.
Can anyone tell me if there is anything I can do? Will the process eventually 'time out' and show that I have not received the item?
I tried an INR but as tracking shows delivery to the shop I obviously lost that case.
Seller just keeps repeating to check with neighbours and family etc. Not really relevant when it's been delivered to a shop.

·1 week agoThe shop should have created a return for the process - As you have opened an INR and its closed call Ebay - Go to the help menu and go to the chat and type in "agent" and you will then get through to a person - If all else fails put in a charge back with your method of payment and this will take longer but you should succeed that way

OP1 week agoThanks, forgot to mention I rang eBay twice and they said they would pass it to another department who would be in touch. That was two days ago though and no contact so far.
Thanks for the chargeback suggestion, I wasn't sure if it would go the same way as the INR case as it has been delivered where I requested.

·1 week agoThe tracking should show "returned to sender" and if it doesnt then the shop should still have it - but chargebacks are quite easy to win as the sender needs to prove that you received the item not that the tracking shows delivere, the tracking on Ebay should show deliverered to shop and then "collected" by you. - Id call ebay again as they shouldnt need to transfer you but if you call early you often get Ireland and they will often sort it out there and then.

Thanks. I did post yesterday but the attachment didn't send. Ebay have got back to me and refunded the item. It is still showing as waiting for collection though.
