Multiple Lost Parcels, unsure how to claim
I have sold an item through eBay and used Royal Mail to deliver it to the buyer. The item never arrived to the buyer and eBay have refunded the customer. Who is at fault and how to I start the claims process? I now potentially on my 3rd one this week, something is not right and I just seem to be refunding people and refund. I only use eBay system for parcels

OP2 weeks agofun morning, put in a claim for one item, checked another and after I did a refund it turned up the next day. How do I get my money back for that?

Hi @buynsellthegallaghers , thanks for your post.
Once you issue a refund, I'm afraid this couldn't be undone via eBay. You can try filing a claim with the courier to see if they are able to help, but from experience, they normally would say that since the item was delivered, they wouldn't take further actions. However, in cases where the item is definitely lost, they would cover you depending on the service you used to ship the item.
I understand this might not be ideal for you, and I am sorry I don't have better news, but I hope this clarifies everything.
Thank you,
Marco

OP2 weeks agoWhat do we do about the buyer not returning the item they have now recieved after we have refunded them?

·2 weeks agoSend them a message to say that you can see by the tracking that they now have the item and please could they make the payment for the goods. You can send them your Paypal address. Alternatively, would they like to return the item? ( you will have to pay for the return postage)
Most buyers will honour this.

·2 weeks agoIf buyer has already been refunded how did that happen ?.
Normally buyer would open a not received claim.
If you didn't reply to that Ebay would refund leaving you to take it up with the carrier.
Can you post more details re what has happened so far ?.

OP2 weeks ago · EditedIt goes like this, the customer says is item has not arrived. I check the tracking and sure enough no tracking information, chase through to the PO website and no tracking until delivered. They raise a claim on non delivery and eBay recommend I resolve it by giving a refund, as a good seller I refund. I am now sat here thinking where is my money. In the last week this has happened twice and then boom I get another one tonight. I did see somewhere I now have to wait ten days to see if it turns up, but surely that rely on customer telling me

·2 weeks ago · EditedYou appear to be using Royal Mail Standard Tariff for most of your items. You would be better off using Royal Mail Tracked, certainly for anything parcel sized, as:
the prices are generally cheaper;
you get full tracking instead of just proof of delivery;
you get better compensation (up to £75, whereas Standard Tariff is only up to £20);
plus if you purchase through eBay and the tracking shows as delivered within 30 days of a refund being issued for non delivery then eBay will automatically reimburse you.

OP2 weeks agoLesson learnt there. I am switched to Evri a bit more as easier tracking but losing three parcels in a week is not good. The tracking wont show as delivered if never arrives? so how do I claim, ebay do not make this easy

·2 weeks agoSwitch to Evri and sign up for Packlink monthly bills. It makes it so much easier to claim (and record in accounting). Although, I don't get many claims.
Sorry, can't help you with claiming from RM as I do not use them for all the reasons you are experiencing.
