Incomplete Address with Simple Delivery?
Summary: falafelgirl1991 is experiencing an issue with selling a scarf online. Despite selecting a specific postage option, the system used a different delivery service, and the buyer’s address appears incomplete. Attempts to edit the address were unsuccessful, and customer service suggested canceling the order and relisting it. falafelgirl1991 is unsure if this will resolve the issue since the buyer claims the address is correct on their end. They are considering canceling the order to try another shipping option that allows for hand-written labels, expressing dissatisfaction with the current delivery service.
I sold a small scarf, and although I thought I had Royal Mail large letter as my postage option, when I sold it it has been given simple delivery with evri.
I noticed before purchasing the label that the buyer's address is showing incomplete, as in there is no house number or road. Thought it was odd and contacted buyer, they say the house number etc is all showing on their end, and they have other recent purchases on ebay, all positive feedback.
Simple delivery won't allow any address editing so after getting no help whatsoever with the AI chatbot managed to find a way to speak to CS on the phone, and they told me to cancel the order and relist for the buyer to purchase with his updated address.
Thing is, I don't know how this will help if he has been using his full, valid address the whole time. Surely he has nothing to change?
I haven't tried printing the label yet at the evri parcel shop, is it possible that a full address will show only at the point of printing? I've never come acress that before.
Trying to list the item again as a similar one actually gives me the option to send as Royal Mail large letter, so would it be better to cancel and ask the buyer to purchase using this listing? At least then I could hand-write the label.
Very needlessly complicated and another reason I thing "simple" delivery is just ensh*tification yet again.

·2 weeks agoWhen you sell using simple delivery, Ebay don't give you the whole address, they don't want you using it bypassing simple delivery! When label is created, (royal mail anyway, I don't use evri), the whole address is on label.
