How to increase postage at seller expense
An item I am selling weighs slightly (0.2k, weight of packaging) more than the postage which was listed on my page. Is there a way that I can add to the postage, at my expense?

·3 weeks agoIf it’s simple delivery you can change the parcel size when you book the postage, at least with Royal Mail. I’m assuming it’s the same for all carriers. You’re not charged for doing it either.

·3 weeks agoIf you've already received the order and can't change the postage label, I would suggest contacting the courier or eBay support first. You can explain that the parcel is slightly overweight and ask whether you can pay the extra postage yourself without charging the buyer. Make sure the parcel meets the courier's weight and size requirements before sending it.

·3 weeks agoYou can't pay extra to the carrier so absolutely no point in contacting them. Provided the item is within the maximum weight/dimensions permitted by the carrier for the service then it won't be an issue.

·3 weeks agoThanks for clarifying That's really helpful to know. I wasn't aware of that

·3 weeks agoAs has already ready been stated, provided you selected the size recommended by eBay when listing then you can still go ahead and use the existing label. It will still be accepted by the carrier and there won't be any surcharges.
You may also have the option when generating the label to adjust the size/weight, at no extra cost, by clicking on the pencil symbol next to the package size.

I would send it as it is. Ebay state:
'If you don’t use the parcel size that was recommended when you created your listing, and your item exceeds the maximum size and weight of the label, you may be responsible for the extra costs to send your item. This includes the cost difference between the parcel sizes and an administration fee of £1, including VAT.'
