How does Simple Delivery handle combined postage with Best Offers and Auctions?
Summary: donnamh83 is asking about how eBay's Simple Delivery system handles combined postage for items won through auctions and accepted Best Offers, as well as for multiple Best Offers. sml192 explains that if the option 'Require all buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer' is selected, each accepted offer requires immediate payment, preventing combined postage. If this option is not selected, buyers can combine payments in their checkout basket within 24 hours, allowing postage to be combined where applicable.
Hi everyone,
I list my items as auctions with the "Best Offer" option enabled, and I'm using eBay's Simple Delivery system.
I know that Simple Delivery automatically combines postage when a buyer wins multiple auctions and pays for them together. However, I know that accepted Best Offers require immediate payment.
Could someone clarify how Simple Delivery handles postage in these two scenarios?
1. Auctions + Best Offer: If a buyer wins a couple of auctions and also has an accepted Best Offer, will Simple Delivery combine postage across all of them, or only the auctions?
2. Multiple Best Offers: If a buyer has made Best Offers on multiple auction items, can Simple Delivery combine the postage for those, or does immediate payment force them into separate orders?
Thanks in advance for your help!

·3 weeks agoIf you have 'Require all buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer' selected on your 'Buyer management' page then payment will be taken automatically when the offer is accepted and cannot, therefore, be combined with any other item. If you don't have that selected then when you accept the offer the buyer will be able to pay for that item together with any other items already in their basket at checkout and postage should be combined where applicable (they have 24 hours to complete payment after you accept an offer).
