expensive postage
Summary: d*i*o*m*o*n*d expressed frustration over high postage costs on small items, affecting both buyers and sellers. sml192 explained that while Custom Postage is limited to certain categories, standard tracked services start at £2.70. They also clarified that £0.91 applies to letters, not large letters, which start at £1.55. cheekychippy210 noted that not all items have custom postage options. trains929 advised checking the correct weight when selecting a large letter postage label.
hello
I am selling items very small that fit in a large letter postage but why is the prices set to £1.55 or starting from £2.70. some items are only 3£ so all the money goes to postage. I have contacted ebay and tried different things but postage seems very high and unfair for buyer and seller. I have been selecting custom postage, last week they were charging £0.91 for large letter and today it is gone up to £1.55. how can a seller offer a good cheap price to buyers while postage is so high?

·1 week agoitems sold under custom postage are not covered so if lost you will have to refund buyer and contact courier, for compensation. RM, my experience on lost item, "prove, with original receipt, I bought goods". A book of stamps was my compo which fell short of goods sold. If you want to spend time with claims on lost goods then fine, i prefer simple delivery and ebay sort it out. If the buyer wants your item they will pay the postage.

·2 weeks agoCustom Postage is only available in selected sub-categories for Letter/Large Letter items under £20. For all other sub-categories Simple Delivery is mandatory. Simple Delivery is a tracked service with prices starting at £2.70 for Large Letter Up to 1Kg.
In terms of Custom Postage, £0.91 is the price for Royal Mail Standard Tariff Letter Up to 100g, not Large Letter. Standard Tariff Large Letter prices start at £1.55 for items up to 100g.
