Evri sending emails out regarding extra charges
Summary: riversideoutdoor expressed frustration over being charged surcharges by a courier for parcels that supposedly had incorrect weights, despite being within the limits. boundarycoins pointed out a discrepancy in parcel sizing guidelines, while lifeboardsuk labeled the charges as criminal, citing similar experiences. riversideoutdoor mentioned switching to another courier due to ongoing issues. davemdurrant shared a similar problem, struggling to get responses regarding an incorrect surcharge and considering not using the service again.
I have recently received 2 emails from Evri explaining that I would be receiving a surcharge for stating incorrect weight on 8 parcels. I checked all 8 parcels that I had dispatched and were well within the 1Kg or 2 KG limit. I questioned these charges which becomes a real pain ( have to show proof of weight and 3 different measurements ) 4 were refunded but the others were not as the measurement were very slightly different. All items I sent were small parcels within the stated size guideline. the weight was the issue and not the measurement yet they still charged me a surcharge for parcels that were correctly paid for. Any other retailers having similar issues ?

·6 hours agoYes, I have one right now that was well within
size and weight limits ( by their own measurements of them!) and I have been charged £14.40 extra - the courier is Evri - of course..
I am trying to get a response from Packlink - no replies at all, and today they do not even recognise the parcel tracking number and say it does not exist.
Frustrating and maddening.
No help from eBay, and no recourse -
If this is not handled I will never use packlink again.

·2 weeks ago · EditedYes, with the majority of parcels I have ever sent through Evri. And on Etsy they simply appear as a non-refundable and non-disputable charge on your account. They are simply criminals - that's all there is to it. I have lost far more money using Evri than the cost of using Royal Mail instead, I will never use Evri again, and I will dedicate plenty of my spare energy to educating other senders on their practices to do as much damage to them as possible :)

OP2 weeks agoEvri seem to be doing more of this extra charge scam which should be addressed. I am now using Yodel ( cheaper rates ) Evri loss and my gain.

·2 weeks ago · EditedI noticed on their own site they have copied RM parcel sizing for a small parcel but still separately offer the standard parcel we are all used to. It may be irrelevant to your situation but something to bear in mind.
I would want to get to the bottom of it as to pull 8 of them is quite a lot. Of the ones they didn’t refund on, did any go over 16cm in height? I know they are highlighting weight but if they were spot on I wouldn’t discount the size as the culprit just yet.
