Evri delivery delays: advice needed
Summary: k.i.n.g.edward expressed concern about a delayed delivery through eBay's Simple Delivery and Evri, fearing the package might be lost. Other participants reassured k.i.n.g.edward that eBay's protection policy will handle any claims and the seller wouldn't need to refund the buyer. Participants noted that tracking updates might not be real-time and advised checking directly with Evri. k.i.n.g.edward later confirmed that the item was eventually delivered with no buyer complaints.
I recently sold an item, and used eBay simple delivery. The package went via evri. The tracking says they were delivering it on Monday, but they then said there was a problem and it should be delivered within 24 hours. Nothing has been updated since. The absolute last day to deliver within the time frame given is tomorrow, but I think it has most likely been lost. My buyer has not yet been in touch, but I would like to know how this would likely be resolved. Everything I’ve read so far seems to put the onus on me to sort, which if that’s the case, kind of defeats the purpose of using simple delivery from ebay

·yesterday at 7:24 AMif its lost ebay will know before you! Their system kicks in and you do nothing but wait for update about refunds, to buyer and to you. The goods may, may, come back to you!

·2 days agoThe onus is not on you. The buyer has to initiate "item not received." Ebay will tell them to contact seller . After doing that, the buyer will be told to wait 5 more days and ebay will contact them. After doing that, the buyer will be told to wait 5 more days and ebay will contact them,..again. Ebay will do everything possible to not to pay up.

OP2 days agothat’s not particularly reassuring. Luckily I was unduly worried, it did get delivered eventually, and I had zero contact from the buyer

·1 week agoCheck on the main Evri page. Ebay tracking does not always update in real time.
As the others have said, you and the buyer are covered against loss anyway.

·1 week agoIf its on simple delivery you have to do nothing at all, your protected by ebay and whatever the buyer says, you do NOT refund the sale that’s up to ebay to do not you.

·1 week agoIf it was sent with Simple Delivery then the buyer just needs to open an 'Item not received' claim and eBay will deal with it. If the item has been lost then eBay will refund the buyer themselves and you get to keep the original payment.
