Ebay sellers must please "Stop using Evri" delivery as the only option.
Summary: The discussion centers around concerns about the delivery service Evri, with participants highlighting issues such as missing parcels and lack of communication within the company's delivery system. nebs9999 questions why Evri drivers are self-employed while Royal Mail's are employees, suggesting cost-saving measures on employer national insurance. wasang shares dissatisfaction with lost parcels and stresses that eBay should reconsider its contract with Evri due to its impact on reputations.
I understand that using Evri is considered to be cheaper for Sellers, but their service is abominable. There has never, never been an occasion where delivery is on time. Every purchase I make on eBay is always "delayed, lost in transit, not connected to the courier" etc. Not once have I ever received a parcel by the due date, its always many days later.
These are faults of an extremely badly managed delivery company. It is unacceptable. Why should buyers on eBay be forever subjected to one choice only, when they know that the Evri service is useless?
It stops me from buying on eBay, I can tell you. And I am not alone. Search for 'Evri bad delivery service' using any words you like to the same effect, and you will see how dreadful people consider them to be. Its not the fault of the too-few, poorly paid, overworked drivers, it's poor management and a lack of staff and expecting drivers to have their own vans etc. DPD or Royal Mail are far superior to Evri, with RM being top.
Please, eBay Sellers, stop using them, stand up against their poor service, force them to change! At the very least please give us buyers the Royal Mail or DPD option; we never ever have any problems with Royal Mail in my locale.
Thanks (but seeing how many topics of this same request are already on eBay forums, I guess it's unlikely anyone will do anything.)
But Change starts with you, and fortune favours the brave.

路1 month agoDespite me tracking a delivery by Evri and keeping my buyer informed, he still left me a neutral score on Feedback. The package took 5 days , not terrible but longer than usual. I have lodged an appeal with Ebay, the delivery time , once Evri get it , is outwith my control. I do not deserve the neutral rating. An example, I sent a package yesterday with Royal Mail, same cost as Evri, the delivery was made this morning !! Evri are a very unreliable courier company. I suspect there has been a deal betweeen them and Ebay " sorted ".

路3 months agoIn the past 2 years I have had 3 parcels go missing inside the chaotic internal Evri delivery system. There seems to be very little communication between the customer services team and the warehouse managers. I suspect that the number of lost and missing parcels overwhelm the employees at all levels because the system operates on strict time limits. Anything outside of these limits are just forgotten about and written off because there is no time to find these missing parcels. Ebay should cease dealing with this unreliable company and cancel its contract until Evri can get its act together (which I doubt it ever will). Ebay - Don't let your reputation get dragged down by Evri

路3 months agoWhy are evri drivers self employed, while royal mail are employees? They do the same job. Evri must be saving fortunes in employers national insurance.

路5 months agoVery well said and completely true.
We sold for over 20 years on Ebay but
now just don't bother anymore.
Amazon are now getting worse even
if one DOES use Prime delivery.
Just realised who keeps calling my
landline phone and leaving a message
as if its a mobile.聽 You've guess it.聽 Evri!
All messages just get deleted -聽but still
annoying.
Of course what we all really need to do
is look a certain person in America as
God alone knows where we'll all end up.
Wish I could send a bill for my oil as it
heats my home!

路6 months agoEbay should give the buyer the option of who they want as courier they can then make an informed choice based on local information, I'm sure people would be prepared to pay a little extra for a decent delivery service, it's all well and good ebay saying you are covered by their money back guarantee聽 but it is frustrating for buyers and drives them to other selling platforms聽

路6 months agoIt seems mail logistics in the UK has generally gone to the dogs, all thanks to fraudulent & lazy couriers.

路6 months agoAs a buyer I have to agree. Every parcel I have ordered from eBay and other companies sent via Evri has been late. Their customer service is abysmal, with a very poor chatbot advising that the order has been escalated, but a reply is never received. I very rarely order from ebay and other companies these days because of them using Evri.聽
They are cheap for a reason. Pay peanuts, and you get monkeys.

路10 months agoWhat I found concerning was the driver who said "never go back to depot with undelivered items"
So, if he doesn't return undelivered items to the depot, what does he do with them ?
That being the case, the law at that point deems his actions as a matter of unlawful possession / taking without consent. You know the word I'm looking for.
I was also disgusted to see people's property just thrown on the ground outside while they were loading up. I imagine quite a few parcels must be getting left behind on the ground, ready to be unscrupulously put in an unassigned vehicle, or simply run-over.聽

"Toe tags" ain't they just! Confirmed by the company's admission that DBS checks are not carried out.

I'm trusting eBay to see sense and realise this association with EVRI needs promptly terminating, as increasing numbers of buyers are refusing to purchase where EVRI is the assigned carrier. I can foresee eBay losing buyers en masse if this farce continues.

路8 months agoI've just purchased three items from another platform, because same items on eBay were delivery by EVRI. I avoid EVRI like the plague nowadays.

路6 months agoI hate i have to contact sellers now and explain them how to change settings, and sometimes it is still evri even after they did, we checked with screenshot. And you cannot contact poeple in bids, they know people are interested and put prices up. Many seller told me to choose royal mail like on V but they don'r even know Ebay doesn't let me choose the postage like on there.

路10 months agoI wish EVRI would just go down to the hot place. The most common reason for failed deliveries is simply that their lazy drivers can't be bothered to find addresses. I.e if your house doesn't have a number but has a name, item never arrives.
I'm sick of EVRI lies and pathetic excuses by their drivers. I don't care how little they get per parcel it's not my problem.聽
It seems anyone can acquire a Halfords satnav and call themselves a professional courier.
eBay need to get rid of them before there's a mass exodus to some other platform that guarantees聽 truly professional couriers.
Am at the point of putting eBay on my black list and closing my account because of EVRI. I'd rather pay more for postage to get a reliable service.

OP10 months agoHere in the Highlands, Royal Mail is the best, never a single problem,
ever. Perfect service every day, no matter what (unless 8ft high snow
drifts prevent access) 馃槃
It's just us buyers being given the option to choose which postage we would
prefer is what remains the issue. If the buyers are prepared to pay, what's
the problem letting them....Once I get to checkout, I will remove the item
from the basket if RM is not an option.
Win-win situation if the option is included, is all.

OP1 year agoPerhaps it's location-dependent.
All I am saying is that buyers should be offered a choice between Evri and RM. That way, everyone wins. If RM costs are higher, add the extra to the price, or adjust shipping costs?
As a buyer, I wouldn't mind this at all.
I think supporting Sellers on eBay is important as it helps smaller businesses 'fight' against Amazon's overwhelming presence, and with their 'free shipping with Prime' - simply not being free at all, they build it into the price, as well as charge an annual fee, and we still buy from them.
Just give buyers a choice please.
hor5009
路1 year agoThat would actually be a great way to do business. I'd obviously rather pay a little extra to avoid Evri. If eBay implemented this, I suspect a decline in Evri usage would eventually happen anyway.

路1 year agoOk, totally get the point and I won`t reiterate what I see in other replies. My own experience ,shipping about 100 orders to customers per month is that Evri does slightly better than RM. I use both services and must say that Evri win with their tracking. My only criticism of them would be that when there is a problem getting an answer can be frustrating...
hor5009
路1 year agoI have never received a single parcel from Royal Mail late from eBay. And yet my last four Evri orders have arrived late or in one case, was completely lost in transit.
聽
Trying to speak to them is next to impossible too as they only have a terrible AI chat feature now which is absolutely useless.
hor5009
路1 year agoI agree. If I was selling I'd never use them and as a buyer I'd happily pay a little extra to avoid them because they're abysmal. Plus when you have a problem, there are zero options to speak to a human being.
聽
eBay should ban the service. In fact, the entire company should be forced into liquidation.

路1 year agoI nearly always send my stuff by Royal Mail and only resort to Evri if a parcel is too big for RM.聽 In the past they were far cheaper but RM lowered a lot of their prices a few years ago meaning on some things they are cheaper or only slightly more expensive.聽 The trouble is people still have the idea that Royal Mail is expensive and Evri cheap.
聽
Big companies may get a better bulk discount from Evri than they could with RM and if so they'll go with them if it means lower prices and more sales.聽 YOU may be happy to pay more for a different service but a lot of people aren't.聽
聽
With Simple Delivery Private Sellers on e-Bay, or their Buyers, are charged less if the Seller will send by either RM or Evri.聽 For some it'll be more convenient if an Evri parcel shop is nearer to them than a Post Office and they tend to open longer hours.
聽
Evri's big problems are lousy customer service and so much depending on the quality of individual couriers as some are more competent/conscientious than others.聽 I have no problem with deliveries from them but know that I'm lucky which is why I don't send with them.

路7 months agoI open a not received case on ALL late Evri parcels, in the hope Ebay may take notice and drop them
