Double charge on postage
Please can someone help on how to reach-out to Ebay on postage cost.
I sold an item to a customer which courier was paid for by the customer, only for Ebay to charge me another fee for shipping label.
Please what can I do?

·3 weeks agoSorry to interupt. Been off ebay for a year or so. Finally thought about giving it a go again. I sell jigsaws I have made up. All well until I get to the postage part. How do I fill out my own courier and price - I have to print this and that. Any help please

·3 weeks agoAs a private seller you no longer can (in the main).
Simple Delivery is the setup now where you state what the product is, ebay then add on the postage and you get provided a label to print (or a QR code).
Custom delivery is available in some categories, but a jigsaw is never going to meet the requirements.
Only bit that could help is the fact you say yoy sell jigsaws you have made up. Do you mean they are jigsaws you have created?

It’s a hand planer.

·3 weeks agoHello. Oh no - the jigsaws are what you buy in shops. Many thanks for your reply. Such a shame as I sell so I can buy newer ones. In my 70's and everything nowadays seem to change - but not for the better. Charity shops are going to have a haul. Thank you again

·3 weeks agoA lot has changed for Private sellers in the year or so that you've been off!
eBay expect sellers to use Simple Delivery, the link below explains how SD works:

OP3 weeks agoThank you for your support, please eBay charged a higher amount compared to what was stated. eBay charged me £21.74 as against £11.72 charged and paid by the customer for UPs courier service, resulting in to a difference of £10.02
What do I do?

·3 weeks agoUnfortunately when simple delivery doesn't apply - its up to you as the seller to check the postage allocated is sufficient.
If you haven't purchased the label from ebay yet - note you do not have to - you can purchase postage elsewhere.
If you have already purchased the ebay label - you can cancel it - search on google to find the guidance on that one
If you have already purchased the label and shipped it - nothing you can do - the extra postage is at your cost

OP3 weeks agoThank you mate.
I have incurred the cost. I will watch out for such next time.

·3 weeks agoPresumably - this is the BL Motor 18V Li-Ion Handheld Electric Planer?
If so, there is nothing to contact ebay about.
It was not listed with Simple Delivery. it was listed with the postage method UPS Adult Signature Required (presumably because it being a plane - ebay defines this a bladed article) at a cost of £11.72.
Yes the customer has paid for this - you will receive this £11.72 in your proceeds from the sale (once the proceeds clear).
As such - you now need to purchase the postage. You don't need to use ebay however to do this.
