Custom Postage

Anyone having trouble with custom postage today? I normally click on custom postage and then click primary service and it has an option for what I want to enter as a postage fee now all I get is this message:
"There aren't any options available. Update your package details or switch to flat postage." and I can't use simple postage as I use a franking machine to send stuff out

It's not fixed for me (Firefox). I'm not getting the message "There aren't any options available." any more, but only because I'm presented instead with a never-ending spinning circle - impossible to get out of without completely closing the window.

you try to add domestic or international post I receive this message :

You thus cannot add domestic or international post options even though the listing form includes fees for international exposure !!

·Aug 17, 2026 at 3:05 PMJust re looked at my draft and its all ,, Payment policy,, & ,,Postage policy,,Flat: UK_RoyalMailSecondClassStandard ,, Display your listing on eBay US and Canada site — fees apply,, ? but if you look at Edit postage policy all the old postage page comes up ? why have they done this its like Simple delivery all over again,, more work sorting out and given no notice again ,ever admin marco did not know ? AAAH

I have just downloaded the EBay app onto my android phone. It has let me add Royal Mail 2nd class, Royal Mail 2nd large letter, or Royal Mail 1st class as custom delivery to draft listings - there were no options for using evri postable or the higher weight Royal Mail large letter options. Listed fine from the app.
I then tried adding the custom postage to another draft in the app, then saving the draft. I then reopened this draft on the website to complete - the custom postage was selected but no services were showing, I just ignored this and listed. It worked just fine and showed the postage I’d selected in the app.
A faff but an improvement on nothing. - hope that helps somebody else 😀

·Aug 16, 2026 at 8:41 PMI When selling my postcards I normally send as small letter and charge 91p postage on custom delivery, but eBay don’t do small letter and want to charge £2.70 postage for large letter, my customers just won’t pay £2.70 so no sales. Please advise.

·Aug 16, 2026 at 8:19 PMI have found a workaround that has worked successfully on my private seller account.
You do not need to change your account to a business seller account. “Business Policies” is simply eBay’s name for reusable postage, payment and return settings, and private sellers can use them.
Go to:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/bp/manage
Opt in to Business Policies, select “Create policy”, then create a Postage policy containing your required Royal Mail service, postage charge and dispatch time.
When creating your listing, select the saved postage policy instead of trying to add the service through the broken Custom Postage menu.
I have tested this and it allowed me to list successfully despite receiving the “There aren’t any options available” error through the normal postage section.
This is a workaround for listings where Custom Postage should normally be available. It will not override Simple Delivery on items where eBay genuinely makes Simple Delivery compulsory.

·Aug 16, 2026 at 6:49 PMThis has been an ongoing problem for several days now. I've contacted customer services at eBay who say it is an 'emerging technical issue' which is being looked into. It's impossible to get anything done until the problem gets fixed. I hope everyone else is reporting the issue to Customer Services too, as I'm sure that the more sellers that do the more chance of the tech team getting on and fixing the glitch!

·1 month agoI think I've found a workaround! ( if you are relisting). Click relist, scroll down to "save for later" click and it will go into drafts. Resume draft and scroll to bottom (ignore the fact there is no added postage), and click list. Just worked for me, although it told me I lived somewhere else, just put that right before clicking list. If you then look at the listing, it seems to have the right postage!!

·1 month agoI'm in the same boat here. Because I send some packages from across the border in Rep of Ireland for EU sales, I never use Global Delivery System. I need to be able to make custom international delivery. This message has now started appearing. A disaster for my model if it persists and the end of me and Ebay!

·1 month agoI’m new to selling so thought I was doing something wrong. I’d worked out my prices based on using Royal Mail 2nd class large letter but experienced the same message when I tried to list today.
Can’t compete with business sellers when they are listing for the same price as Simple Delivery will cost me. Hope it’s just a glitch and not a policy change. Glad it’s not just me thought.

the add other options and get the same message. Also the listing
will not accept any international post options with the same message.
This seems to be some sort of software fault. I became aware of this
yesterday the 13 August and thought that ebay may have sorted it but the same
today. Also tried my desktop to list with the same result.
Also the listing page on occasions (at least) sometimes shows
the international visibility box with fees although there is no option
to add international post !!
I tried choosing the category collectible paper and ephemera
and there is no option for custom postage. Now say you can Royal Mail post
a very light paper low value item at 91p second class then who wants
to pay £2.73 or more instead with Simple Delivery ?
Would anyone know please which selling categories have a Custom
Postage option where Simple Delivery is not mandatory ?

·1 month agoYes, I've had a problem with adding Custom Postage, too, since yesterday. I sell postcards which fit into an envelope and so custom postage is cheaper than using Simple Delivery. I believe this issue has been reported, so hopefully eBay will get this corrected - hope so!

·1 month agoI have been looking into this as we usually use our own stamps and it appears that unless it is a letter under 100g AND under £20 we are being forced to use Simple Delivery (which we don't want!). I had problems yesterdays listing small books and groups of postcards ... a group I would charge £1.95 for Ebay want to charge either me or the buyer £2.72 which means a predicted huge drop off in sales! If anyone has a way around this please let me know :(

·1 month agoGetting the same message....not allowing me any postage option except simple delivery. No international options either.
Was working fine yesterday,i have 30 items in drafts waiting to be listed today but the postage options I selected have all been reset! Ebay have probably made a tweak somewhere & messed everything up as usual,they really are the worst!
