Combined postage
Summary: aquaceltica shared frustration with eBay's policy that prevents sending combined invoices for items won by the same buyer, causing issues with combined postage. They described being instructed by eBay customer service to have the buyer pay double postage and then issue a refund, which they found impractical. jonatjonatjonat contributed that their buyer simply paid for all items simultaneously, generating one label. bee3389 reiterated the approach of refunding the unused postage label.
As an example of why eBay are losing business, take this as an example. Previously if a buyer won more than one auction and you could fit the items in a single package you would be able to invoice to the buyer, adjusting postage amounts on the invoice.
I listed two items, was forced to use eBay simple delivery (no other option). Buyer won both items. Using the "Send payment details" results in an error message
Invoices cannot be sent for items where eBay manages all or part of the postage. These items are excluded from this invoice.
Both items were listed with identical package/postage charges. Upon contacting eBay customer services the advice was to get the buyer to pay for the items (that is, pay double postage), myself generate and use one postage label, and the other one would be refunded to the buyer.
This is completely ridiculous. What buyer is going to go through that palaver?
Has anyone found a way round this?

·Sep 15, 2026 at 7:38 AMWhile that is true - if that occurs - there will be two knock on effects.
The seller WILL see a delayed payment for the order where the postage label wasn't used. This is generally 14 days after the last estimated delivery date
It is possible the buyer could claim item not received for the second order as there is no valid tracking
Also note - the buyer doesn't get a refund until 30 days after the last estimated delivery date for the unused label.

·1 month agoI had a buyer win several auctions.
They simply paid for them all at the same time. It generated one label.
