Somewhat good to see that this is a current problem with other users, and not just me. ebay asks me to change the card for selling costs, somehow deems every card I try as ineligible - lloyds, two monzo accounts. Basically just withholding £200 from me for no reason at all.

·2 weeks agoThey have just sent another message saying their system will not accept my card and i have to try a different method and the matter is now closed. I just want to ask if anyone else in this situation has ordered a new card from their bank will it work as it will be a different number etc. Don't want to go to the hassle of having to get a new one for it not to work-as the OP has said he tried multiple cards with no luck.

"I would like to inform you that the payout block on your account is related to the entry of a payment method for selling costs. The card you are currently attempting to enter cannot be accepted by our system. In this scenario, please enter a different card on the system to lift the payout block."

·3 weeks agoI have already spoken with an agent with no success. They said it is the banks problem-it isn't. The card and bank account are perfectly fine. I have since used the debit card successfully for a payment option for 'Offers' sent. It is a verification problem Ebays end-i and others can't say it more clearly-it will not verify our valid debit cards. It is pointless speaking with another agent they will just spew out the same unhelpful advice of "call you bank it's not our problem." So anyone else in the same boat don't bother ringing them you won't get anywhere.

Recheck and reset/update your Banking details even if you think that they are still valid --- essential to ensure that you can send from and receive payments to a nominated UK Based/Addressed Banking account. ( eBay Managed Payments setup. )

·3 weeks agoYou keep replying with this every time-the problem is VALID debit cards are NOT being accepted due to an obvious glitch in Ebays system. Our bank details are valid & correct-regardless of whether we have sold recently or not. Our debit cards are valid-in fact mine was accepted as payment option for Offers sent-so i know the card is fine-all of us having this problem know our cards are fine-the problem lies within Ebays verification system which is not verifying valid debit cards. The sooner they sort out this problem the better. Does anyone who actually works for Ebays payments department actually read these complaints? When i spoke with an advisor last week i specifically asked them to put a note on my account stating i am unable to pay my selling fees due to an Ebay glitch-yet i am still being sent emails/messages to 'Kindly remind me i owe them money'. Yes i know-i'm unable to pay you because of your system failures. Useless.

OP3 weeks agoI had a chat with their support a bit ago, they were insistent that the card linked for selling fees is valid and active despite it saying otherwise on my payments section. So I guess it is just a case of waiting to see if this resolves itself soon.

·3 weeks agoSame for me when i rang Ebay last week-said the details are correct but it must be a banking problem-so i rang the bank no problems there. Can't believe it's gone on for this long-other's have been having this issue long before me which started 2 weeks ago. You'd think a multi billion $ company would get this sorted sharpish-i guess not-holding onto our money must be making them interest so as long as they are getting paid it's ok.

·3 weeks agoYes it is very frustrating-i need to sell some items to raise some much needed cash-but cannot due to this problem. I have had 3 emails & 3 messages now from them to pay my outstanding selling fees-which i cannot do. Strangely when i made an offer 3 days ago for a £5 item-it asked me for payment details for 'Offers'-which it never did before. I added said unverified card for 'Offers' payments and it was verified & accepted-the very same card being denied for selling costs. Unbelievable.
