Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice regarding a payout issue on my eBay account.
it’s now been 18 business days and I still haven’t received my payout which was initiated on 26/03/2026 status is still showing as in progress. eBay support has told me that the delay is due to “compliance checks”and there is a banner about this on the top of the page if I go on to my payments section, I’ve already spoken to my bank and they’ve confirmed there are no checks or pending transactions on their side.
From what I understand, this suggests the hold is still on eBay’s side, but I’m not getting a clear answer on what exactly is being reviewed or how long it will take.
Has anyone experienced something similar?

·1 week agoIm new to Ebay, I sold 4 iteams, ebay took its fees and paid out for 2 (but blocked me transferring it into my account) and said I have to wait 30days for the funds of the 2 other iteams I sold.. spoke to an agent... he literally wasn't interested ... said "you should have read our terms and conditions" ... I made a online complaint... received an email within 2hrs... saying "complaint closed".. apparently its all my fault, for not reading the TCs.... (buyers sent positive feedback). No more Ebay for me..

·3 months agoI don't like these changes. I sold an item for a friend. Royal Mail says it was delivered with a photograph but ebay says the funds are on hold, so I'm not sure if Ebay will allow them to steal it and not give me the money, so I'll have to give my friend my own money.

·3 months agoOh please reflect what you have just said!
Do you believe one of the behemoths , one of the biggest online marketplace Companies, would exist if what you purported to happen was true... eBay keeps money, ' steals it' and the seller has to pay compensation !
Are you a regular seller , or one who sells now and then with big breaks ?
This sends red flags to eBay as sudden selling activity could mean a hijacked account, so money is placed on hold until they are satisfied the item is received, and the real owner of the account has returned to sell.
It's a good security measure, nothing has been stolen !

·3 months agoThanks for supporting eBay. Why would they allow a seller to use their money to make eBay purchases but not allow it to be transferred to bank account. With no timeframe no SLA. This is really poor of one of the biggest platforms in the world.
tressygirl
·3 months agoThe money is not transferred to the member's bank account automatically, this has to be withdrawn manually.
If you wish to know how to proceed, and withdraw a payment from a sale, please come back and ask.

·3 months agoNot sure if you have followed my message. I have transferred the money from my Ebay account to my normal bank account that I use with Ebay. There is no timeframe as to when that money will be transferred. I’ve called them several times they don’t have an SLA. Their terms and conditions are not clear and all they’re saying is to wait. In 2026 taking days and days for a small amount of money to be transferred is just unacceptable.

·3 months agoI would expect keeping people's money for a long time from untrustworthy companies, not ebay. The changes are bad. They didn't hold on to people's money before. Yeah right, so an account that I've had for years and sold now and again for years with the same bank account, is suddenly seen as an excuse to not give me my money for products I sold? They must have some kind of new graduate with lots of rubbish new ideas making decisions.

·3 months agoExactly doesn’t make sense at all. I am an occasional seller. I buy more than the few items I have sold over the course of the last 15 years. After selling two items I’m still waiting for my money that I transferred from my Ebay account to my bank account on 16th of April. All excuses no SLA no timeframe no link to terms and conditions. The only feedback is we don’t have feedback!

OP3 months agoUpdate:
So after 27 business days I have received the money. I did email Financial Ombudsman around a week ago but they did not respond yet however, someone on Reddit advised emailing the Ebay CEO as he sent him an email and received the money after 12 hours.
So I also emailed the CEO and then received the money after an hour without receiving a reply to my email from the CEO. Could be a coincidence 🤷🏽♂️ but still worth a try for anyone facing the same issue
supercars74
·3 months agoMany thanks for the update. I have emailed the CEO however unfortunately I have not received any update from customer service. This is really very poor on behalf of Ebay to delay Customer payouts in a manner that they are doing without any real reason behind it.

·1 month agoHi mate, currently in the same boat. It's been 10 business days and I keep getting different answers from the CS team. Did you end up getting your withdrawal in the end and how long did it take?
hasankh64
·yesterday at 3:06 PMHi mate, I have been faced with same issue it has been more than 10 days. How long did it took for you. Any help is appreciated.

·3 months agoSame with me, ive had this issue for nearly 2 months, thought it was just me.
hkdealsuk
OP3 months agoWow 2 months? Have you been in touch with customer service recently what are they saying?
supercars74
·3 months agoThis is really poor.
i was advised today that I have to wait till 12 May. By that time the pay out may be received or cancelled. If cancelled then will have to initiate again. I just don’t get it. It a payout from eBay to the sellers bank account!
supercars74
·3 months agoLatest update
just been advised there is no time frame for this.
hkdealsuk
OP3 months agoThat’s what they said to me, all they said was it can take more than 10 days. I have just put a complaint in with the financial ombudsman as well so let’s see how it goes. What a waste of time
supercars74
·3 months agoHow do I do that ?

OP3 months agoOf course will update here
supercars74
·3 months agoHave you had any update?
hkdealsuk
OP3 months agoNope nothing at all yet
supercars74
·3 months agoThe worst thing is that each agent in the phone or chat has a different version!
supercars74
·3 months agoSame for me. No update from eBay on this either. No time frame either . Really poor
hkdealsuk
OP3 months agoAbsolute joke, initially they said 8-10 business days, then said will be done in 2 days now they are saying it can take more than 10 days 😂 not getting anywhere with them
supercars74
·3 months ago2 days 3 days then 7 days 15 days and now 30 days
aksed me to check with my bank for no reason when eBay had not sent the funds!
tressygirl
·3 months agoYes compliance checks for new and returning sellers can be anything up to 30 days, so you have a way to go yet.
There is little point asking CS when your payout will be released, any security measure for timeframes, is never discussed.
Annoying, but it's a matter of waiting.
@hkdealsuk
hkdealsuk
OP3 months agoThank you, it’s just that every CS agent I speak to gives a different story sometimes it is a compliance check then the next minute the bank has placed a hold which is not the case.
supercars74
·3 months agoCompliance checks for transferring money from Ebay to my bank account. Surely there has to be an SLA why would it take 30 days for this if there is no information required? but I just think this is ridiculous.
