      Check documentation and unblock payments

Hello everyone, I'd like to ask for advice from anyone who has had this experience. I've submitted all the documentation required by eBay to complete my account verification and unlock the payments. At the moment, however, the payments are still blocked. Is this normal? How long did you have to wait after submitting the documents? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process, or should I just wait? Thanks in advance to anyone who's willing to share their experience.

      Postage label refund?

Hi A buyer requested a cancellation minutes after he bought an item from me I accepted straight away then noticed the funds had been taken from my eBay account I rang customer service who told me my funds would be fully reimbursed within 24 / 48 hours ( maybe I should have waited for the buyers money to arrive first before I sent a refund? ) I can actually see the amount as pending The issue I have is the fee was taken straight away for a pre paid postage label I haven’t printed or used obviously Will this be reimbursed at the same time? This is not showing as pending refund? Hope that makes sense Kind regards

Repeated payout holds with no notice, no explanation, and selective use of seller funds

I am posting this to raise awareness of a wider issue affecting UK sellers, not to resolve a single case.   eBay routinely applies payout holds under the banner of a “routine review”, yet in practice these holds are implemented with no meaningful notice, no explanation, and no transparency. The only indication is often a generic in-app banner discovered after the fact. No email is sent, no reason is given, no information is requested, and no outcome is explained once the hold ends.   eBay’s own Help pages list specific, defined reasons for holding payments, such as transaction-level delivery confirmation, disputes, new seller status, verification requirements, or sudden changes in selling activity. The guidance implies that holds are conditional and lifted once the relevant issue is resolved.   What sellers are experiencing instead is something very different:   Payouts are blocked without reference to any stated condition The same issue recurs periodically with no explanation of cause or prevention The advertised review timeframe (for example “up to two working days”) is often exceeded without communication No permanent resolution or clarification is ever provided     More concerning is the selective nature of the restriction.   While sellers are prevented from accessing their own funds:   eBay continues to deduct selling fees Postage and operational charges continue to be taken from the same balance Refunds and adjustments are processed as normal     In other words, the account is not frozen. Only the seller’s access to funds is restricted, while eBay continues to use those funds for its own purposes. If funds are considered sufficiently risky to withhold from the seller, it is difficult to understand how they can simultaneously be treated as safe for fee extraction and ongoing operational use.   This creates a clear imbalance of control and risk. Sellers bear the cashflow impact, while eBay retains full financial benefit and discretion, without accountability or explanation.   The issue is not whether eBay has the right to review accounts. The issue is that repeated restrictions are applied:   Without proper notice Without transparency Without proportionality Without any actionable guidance for sellers     For UK small businesses operating on tight cashflow, this practice has real consequences. When sellers are given no explanation, no warning, and no way to prevent recurrence, the system ceases to feel like risk management and starts to feel arbitrary.   I am sharing this so other sellers can recognise the pattern and so eBay moderators can acknowledge whether this is considered acceptable practice. At a minimum, sellers deserve clear notice, clear reasons, and clear outcomes when access to their own funds is restricted.

Hi there, I've been with eBay for over 20 year's now, and today I've had hold put on my account until I verify my identity, with a in date passport, driver's licence, resisdance permit or government id, however I do not have any of these, how else can I get this resolved as I can't get in touch with anyone from eBay.
