Wrong item received , not sent by original seller
Summary: phiyo-7368 experienced a mix-up with an order, receiving a car audio system instead of a double gas cooker, which had the same tracking number as the original item. Although the seller claims not to sell the received item, and the courier Evri denies any mistake, it appears the shipping labels were swapped. tressygirl advised phiyo-7368 to initiate a return through their purchase history if still within 30 days, to ensure a refund or a replacement, and to involve eBay if necessary. Currently, both affected buyers are uncertain about resolving the issue due to faint address labels.
Hi, I recently ordered an item . I had a tracking number and thought all was well. However on receipt of the item , it was not as bought. . I contacted the seller , and he says he does not sell what was delivered . The item I bought was a double gas cooker worth £24.00 . But , I received an item that is totally different , being a car audio system ,which google suggests is worth over £200 , this had the tracking number of the cooker , the original item . How or where this mix up happened is unknown .How would I find out who this parcel belongs to , and where my parcel has gone ? Evri , the carrier are in denial as to any confusion on their end, and say they delivered the parcel correctly. I would really like to find the buyer , as probably , he is in the same predicament as myself , having received a cooker !

MentorSep 16, 2026 at 11:55 AMAre you still within 30 days of the item's last estimated date for delivery? Then, listen and message the seller or Evri no more, just proceed this way:
Go right of the item in your Purchase History and from More Actions select Return this item. Select the reason Item Not as Described >> Does Not Match Description or Photos. The seller needs to either refund you in 3 days, or issue a pre paid return label for the return of their item. Once the item is received, they have 48 hours to refund you.
If this doesn't happen, you need to escalate to eBay, eBay step in and force the refund.
Listen to no excuses or promises from the seller to close the case early, and do not forget to escalate.

OPSep 16, 2026 at 12:38 PMi have contacted the seller, He doesn't sell the item that I received . Looking at the box it came in, I can see that the mistake was made by Evri ,as the label is different . The labels on both parcels have been mixed up by Evri ,although they deny this . The address on the removable sticker is too faint to read so both us buyers are in limbo
