Worktop developed a fault 1 month after installation
Hello, I recently fitted a new kitchen in my home and we bought ash worktops from a seller on eBay. They were in the garage gym for a month or so before the kitchen arrived and 1 month after it was installed the island worktop developed a split down the middle. The seller called to do a repair a week later but by then it had started to bow.
The removed it and took it to their factory for a week leaving us without a cooker. It came back looking brand new but after 1 week it started to split again, this time way worse.
They were unable to return with the Christmas rush and we agreed a date of the 29th Dec for them to return. On the 29th I received a text saying they were on their way and just getting home I decided to strip it down to save them time. They never showed. I tried to replace the worktop but the bow it has developed means the hob doesn't align with the gas pipe anymore, so we've had no cooker for a further week.
I have messaged their Admin who said there was a mix up with the dates and they will be here on the 6th. Since then they haven't responded to my messages.
Where do I stand if they don't replace the worktop?
Messaging their admin they said something has been mixed up

·7 months agoI would be ringing them rather than messaging them.
I would also write a letter stating in detail what you expect them to do, and giving them a date by which you expect the desired outcome to have happened, and what action you will take if you are not satisfied.
Send your letter using a signed for service.
You may have to be prepared to take legal action if they don't sort this out.
